Hey I would take one if he had his own income...or maybe worked part time and all the rest of the time for me/us... oh yeah!

Hi Lockit, I am not sure if you read my OP, but I always stated that he would work-full time
as most women do.
Somewhere along the lines as most threads do, it got twisted.
If anyone stays home, it would be ME.
[;)]
Most men are capable of working full time and being a good wife, unless they have some sort of
disability.
I clearly expect MY wife to work, unless he is wealthy or retired.
[:D]

I always thought doing house work, and all the other mundane tasks, keeping his woman happy was what being sub was primarily about. Enjoying many vanilla things as well, if she was so in clined. I could live without the whips and strapons, if allowed.

I think I could be a male wife if it wasnt for the fact that I go insane without working.

geoff, geoff, geoff.
I have said it at least 10 times on this thread, the male wife will work!!!!
Women have always worked, what is the deal with people thinking the male will
quit his job and stay home.
.......random people have posted that crap here, but that is not what this thread is about......
THIS thread is about men that work 9-5 and take care of the home, just like women always
have.

MzMia,

Agreed, As Many have said here, male Wives especially in today's world Would Have To Work, unless of course that Eight Figure Inheritance came through....
[:)].... and wouldn't that Be Niiiiiiiiice !!!!! But seriously, this one would do his 9-5 and come home Cook then Serve Dinner, Clean, Pamper his Goddess in any way She would Wish or Require each night. Each Weekend would consist of rising early and right to housework then Breakfast in bed for Her when She wakes, then to whatever She would Want......... and he Would Love Every Minute of It.

    Hope All Are Well,

My ideal - a boy who worked from home or set his own hours ... we've talked to a few who did/could do that, but none of them have worked out.  Still a nice thought, though, isn't it?  Then he'd be home when I came home from my night shift, and when Holly got home from her long days ...

A Domme can dream right? [;)]

Women always haven't.

It's just been fairly recently recently that the majority of women have held full-time jobs, out of economic necessity, because the days are gone for many when a man could support a family on his own.

My parents both came from large families and the wives never worked outside the home except for volunteer work or part-time jobs, and I'm not that old that this is ancient history.

Which is not to say that keeping a home and raising children is not a full-time job.

It just amuses me that when women do it they are hailed as unsung heroes but if a man wants to do it he is considered a lazy slacker.

SweetDommes -> RE: Does anyone else here seek a male wife? (3/23/2009 8:47:36 AM)

Historically, women (and men) worked in the fields or at cottage industries more than 9-5, and it was the women who did the cooking, cleaning and child care in addition to whatever else they did to support their families.  Women not working (other than taking care of the children) was a sign of wealth ... thus as things progressed and men could support the families on one income, the women stayed at home - what was once a sign of wealth and status became the "norm" ... for a relatively brief period.  So, say what you want, but women have been expected to do the housework and childcare plus other jobs for centuries ... and with that in mind, I'm with Mia on this one - this thread is about men who work jobs and take care of the house, just like women always have (with brief interludes).

A sign of wealth?

Trust me, my family and my relatives were not wealthy.

Neither were the many other families I grew up with who had similar arrangements.

Your historical view is completely inaccurate as well:

Women in the workforce - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Until modern industrialized times, legal and cultural practices, combined with the inertia of longstanding religious and educational traditions, had restricted women's entry and participation in theworkforce. Economic dependency upon men, and consequently the poor socio-economic status of women had also restricted their entry into the workforce.
.........................................................................................

Although access to paying occupations (the "workforce") has been and remains unequal in many occupations and places around the world, scholars sometimes distinguish "work" from "paying work." Analyses distinguishing between unpaid work and paying work have led to the frequently cited slogan "Women do two-thirds of the world's work, receive 10 percent of the world's income, and own 1 percent of the means of production", which has come to capture the imbalance between work and remuneration faced by women.[2] This analysis considers uncompensated household labor — for instance, childcare, eldercare, and family subsistence farming — as well as compensated work in the workforce.....................................................................

The 1870 US Census was the first US Census to count “Females engaged in each occupation” and provides an intriguing snapshot of women's history. It reveals that, contrary to popular belief, not all American women of the Victorian period were either idle in their middle class homes or working in sweatshops. Women were 15% of the total work force......................................................................

In the beginning of the 20th century women were regarded as the guardians of morality; they were seen as made finer than men and were expected to act as such[6] their role was not defined as workers or money makers. Women were expected to hold on to their innocence until the right man came along so that they can start a family and inculcate that morality they were in charge of preserving

MzMia,

My preffered line of work involves me being gone for 8-10 months at a time, playing infront of thousands of fans night after night. So yeah, little hard to do the whole male wife thing while working [:D]

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Does anyone else here seek a male wife? (3/23/2009 3:14:52 PM)

Working involves doing things on a daily basis, for most of us.  Then bringing home the paycheck.

pussiboi -> RE: Does anyone else here seek a male wife? (3/23/2009 3:17:25 PM)

I want to be someone's wife damnit! Sorry...I'm PMS-ing

SweetyBoy -> RE: Does anyone else here seek a male wife? (3/23/2009 3:17:48 PM)

Thanks, Lady MzMia :-)

I think when someone claims he wants a femdom relationship, this is one of basic things, to do all the housework.
I would consider being 'male wife' as a nice start.

After that, the training could continue.. like correcting sub's behavior.. selecting what the sub would wear, when would he get up, ....

.. if he will watch a movie with Lady, or will spend evening hooded massaging her feet... etc :-)

SweetDommes -> RE: Does anyone else here seek a male wife? (3/23/2009 4:52:19 PM)

I'm talking historically as in - medieval Europe, colonial America, ancient China, etc. etc. etc. ... Women worked the fields just like the men, plus did the weaving, sewing, cooking, cleaning, and child rearing.  There were also many who were servants to the upper class and then came home and did all the "wifely" chores.  Women not working WAS a sign of wealth and status back then.  I'm not talking the last century or so ... I'm talking throughout history, across the globe.  That's why, in China, foot binding was a popular sign of wealth (and considered sexy as hell) - it was a symbol that the woman's family did not require her to work, or even walk often.  Larger women were considered beautiful in medieval Europe because that was, again, a sign that their family/husband had enough money to keep them well fed and they didn't have to go into the fields to work it off.

Vanityfull -> RE: Does anyone else here seek a male wife? (3/23/2009 7:04:59 PM)

i almost became a gay yuppie house wife once apon a time, the relationship feel to peices but the long term plan was since he could obtain a high paying job i could just work part time, take care of home and possibly someday take care of kids..

in relationships with guys and girls i have typically been "the girl" and i love it, at a personal level it really gives a release from the pressure of constantly needing to be a big strong guy and all those other goofy pych strains, iv always had a want for strong independant people who can take care of themselves, that after doing all the things in a day that makes them awesome they come home to me taking care of all their needs, i like the idea that i can really help someone so amazing get by day to day by waiting on them, and of corse kink is always a good thing to throw into the equation.

this was actually an issue to deal with for awhile for me personaly, i very much appriciate the existance of such a thread, its refreshing to say the least.[:)]
