I am curious.  What conflicts of interest do you foresee occuring if a gay/lesbian person were to become President? Do you not see those same conflicts occuring in hetero Presidents?

No I do not...minorities are so busy showing people how much they are equal they waste the energy showing rather than doing.
 
Once the private interest groups understand this perhaps they might make some headway.



Even if a gay/lesbian person were to become President, they would not have the sole ability to establish gay/lesbian movement laws. 

We are talking Presidency not King or Queenship like GW thinks. They still account to Congress and Senate and to the poeple of the country contrary to the current adminsitrations beliefs.
 

There are checks and balances in place which usually prevent such things from occuring. 

And this explains the FBI usage of the Patriot Act how?


Personally,  I wouldn't care one way or another if the gay and lesbian community were able to marry, or have other rights afforded them that they should not need to fight for.  However, because of congress, this likely would not occur; there are far too many in office who would prevent this from happening, and too many voters who would prevent this from happening.  I do not understand your reasons for such concerns.

So how might you reflect on the govermental overturning of gay marriages?

Sexual proclivities and political ambitions as well as seperation of church and state were different issues I thought.
