Careful FirmhandKY ... you are going to be accused of reading a post for what it actually says.

It's a terrible, terrible vice that I have.

I'm trying to do better though.  Maybe - one day - I'll be able to read someone's post and see only what I want to see.

Firmhand, thanks a lot for the compliment.
It (is) kind of easy though.
Most socialist (globalist) "arguments" are like someone pissing into a 50 mph Gale wind though. They always seem to want to have their cake and eat it too.
Did you ever think you'd see people arguing for "terrorist rights?"
That's bordering on mental illness!
I'd like to see someone walk into a NYC Firestation and try to argue about "terrorist rights!" lol
Hopefully a lot of things are going to change when Bush goes.
It'd be great to see a lot of foreigners pining away for "the good old days"-" when Bush was President!"
I hope we get a real fuckin MEAN *SOB* in the White House!

Popeye, I share your sentiments but the meanest S.O.B. out there is Newt Gingrich (which isn't really saying a lot for "mean") and I don't think he really has much of a chance.

If people from usa would have traveled more around the world, shown interest in other cultures and nations, their attitude would have been different. Its not only the stupidy of the few usa-tourirsts that travel to Europe, not only the foreign policy, today and yeasterday, it is also business.
I have met several company leaders in my country that have stopped doing business with usa cause of the attitude.

It is a sad history, really..about no people anywhere in the world seems to trust usa anymore.
Yes it is sad.. The world through UN need a strong leader, and my hope is for usa to do a dramatic change.

A big change for the sake of the world and all the nice people that live in usa.

And, we didn't send Troops to N. Ireland when they were having all "the troubles" there and no-one complained.

No you didn't, you sent money to fund the terrorists.

What a rediculous post.  Feel free to stay in your country.  What country is that, by the way?  If the companies in your country are able to survive without doing business with this country, I applaud them.  You should take a page from their book and maintain as little contact with us as possible.

"America has lost it's standing in the world" Yes it has, America has become a Bully on one side of it and a whiner on the other. We have lost the war in Iraq and we have burned through like a forest fire any compassion or merit that we might have gotten in sympathy for 9/11

Right.  That is a great encapsulation that really sums up world history from 1945 until the present.  Good job, John.

4her, I've been to about 40-50 foreign countries and half of them were shitholes.
I've been to Europe 6 times.
I may be comming over to Sweden next year.
I've had a valid Passport since I was 20 years of age.
I know a lot of Americans who have travelled more than me.
As for "not trusting" the U.S. anymore wait till they need something.

It happens more and more due to the issue of attitude.
If people, companies and goverments in USA cant listen to criticism, how can that country ever be trusted ?

Steed, "Sympathy!" Is that what it's about?
We have to have countries "LIKE" us?
Man, what a bunch of *Fair Weather Friends* these foreign countries are turning out to be just because we aren't doing what "they think we should do!"
I hope the next President holds a News conference and starts tearing up "Foreign Aid" checks for the cameras!

Nice post, Popeye.  You know, we have taken the flotsom and jetsom from every country on the planet and, in this phenomenal country, they have prospered beyond their wildest dreams.  A former Austrian citizen is governor of California, the son of a family of Irish Catholic immigrants became President.  Nowhere else in the world do things like that happen.  I have traveled to a number of countries as well and found them to be, outside of their major metropolitan areas, shitholes.

Europe will suffer again from Tyranny.  My hope is that America will be smart enough to stay out of it and then simply do business with the conqueror.  (oh....that would have been Germany if not for the good ole U.S. of A)

Popeye, you are very welcome to Sweden. Countries need each other. The issue of "not trusting usa" is a world wide fact.
I am not saying that I am happy about it, I am not.
The issue of turning to usa when something is needed is yeasterday, the world is changing, some to the good and a some to the bad.
Other people might have a different opinion then me, but my belief is that the world need usa as a leader but for this to work, usa needs to change.

It won't have that much effect popeye. The idea that western governments give something away for nothing is ridiculous. They all get more back than they give so I think you will have to wait a long time to see the aid checks being torn up. Unless the US wants to rob it self but I doubt it.

4her, you can forget that "leader" stuff.
The American People don't want to do it anymore and we don't want to pay for it anymore.
Now, what's this I've been reading about all the crime in Sweden because of muslim immigrants raping women, robbing people?
They say it is very bad in Stockholm and Malmo.
Can I come over and beat them up and maybe the police will look the other way?

The only countries that "need" each other are the ones that can't take care of themselves. And that includes us. We don't need the Saudis(except for the oil), we don't need mexico(except for cheap labor), we don't need china(except for cheap imports), and on and on. What would be nice would be if every third-world country didn't need us to protect their sorry asses....And that includes Israel. What did the world expect when it plunked a jewish state in the middle of a bunch of muslims, peace? The american indian tribes were here before most of us, wanna give up your land and home to them, like the jews expect from the palestinians, gimme a break.....

Sorry, just gulped at the 'dumped a Jewish state' sentence.

Otherwise I agreed with nearly everything... seems to me you're mixing up the capital (economy) with history (reconciliation).

Shalom.

I've nothing against the jews personally, just think it was idiotic to put them where they are now, may have worked 2000 years ago, but a few others have moved into the neighborhood lol.  Just don't think the U.S. should play world police because of policy makers that aren't risking their own lives to enforce the peace.
