At the moment, the right has the power to rig elections.  See Bush v Gore.

It's an absolute catastrophe, but I think a necessary catastrophe: the french electorate is famously 'reactive': when they get pissed off, which is frequent, they vote towards the extremes. This will be balanced out at the legislative elections in June, when the voters go and elect their deputies at the Assemblee Nationale.

C'est un bordel total, mais ils ont le president qu'ils meritent. Les connards! rofl

But for the record, there are apparently going to be record heat waves this summer. Long hot summer = riots. France has issues to riot about but I've got an itch that something might brew in Britain, everyone seem tetchy there.

Believing this position is hopeless. Needing to believe in a conspiracy theory examples a fundamental belief that a clear plurality can never be achieved.

VP Gore lost. The fact that the election was a close as it was indicates that he, coming from a popular incumbent administration, was not a good choice for the Democratic party. He lost, not because of hanging chad, but because not enough people voted for him.

Besides, being the "global warming" messiah obviously is a much better, and much more profitable gig for him.

A loser can not accept victory of the opposition.

Edited - Because the fingers could not keep up with the thoughts, and effort to be quick and concise the first time.
