This is a similar topic to the one in the Ask a Master section. I thought it brought about a good discussion, both serious and humorous. In your opinion, what are 5 things a submissive/slave should know?

Who they are
First Aid/CPR/Hemich and how to USE eveything that comes in a first aid kit
Limits and that EVERYONE has them - learn yours - hard and soft limits, if you don't then contact me, I have PROOF that you do
How to communicate with others, especially your partner in a respectfull manner
How to be a Lady or a Gentleman, so few know this its sad and dispariging

Thats a quick 5.. I can think of about a dozen more, but I will play by the rules.

1. How to come up with a "lie" really quickly:
"There is only one light on in the basement because I'm trying to save electricity."
2. How to swallow even when it tastes bad.
3. How to clean up a roomful of toys in 3 seconds when you hear footsteps on the porch.
4. How to cover the bruises properly.
5. How to have fun.

My answer is the same as the post in the Ask a Master section. I have reposted it:

Personally, I think these apply to people no matter what their orientation is in their relatioship:

1. Know yourself
2. Know your partner
3. Know that just when you think you know everything that there is to know about yourself or your partner, that there is something more that you could learn.
3. Know your limitations and that you are not infallible
4. Know that you do not know everything
5. Know that your way is not the only way

2. yes there are more than 10 teams in "the big ten" conference...dont ask why
3. the difference between beer, ale, and lager
4. how to properly clean a deer....how to properly clean a deer rifle would help also
5. How to change your own oil

Yes there are more.....but those have got to be on the top of the list for me.....

1). Know yourself and take personal responsibility for your own thoughts and actions.
2). Communication, be able to openly and effectively communicate (this means not only talking but also listening).
3). Always be honest with yourself and be sure that you share the same standard of honesty as the people with whom you associate.
4). Accept that you are fallible and always be willing to learn.
5). Know that being submissive in a relationship does not degrade your value as an individual.

#1 know your limits (even if you insist you have none)
#2 know your abilities
#3 know you still have a lot to learn, no matter how much you already know
#4 know that even though someone is Dominant, they arent always going to be right.
#5 know when it is proper to correct in the case of #4 and when its better to bite your tongue and deal

I believe I know a lot more than "nothing", and if you are in an abusive relationship, in any means, you quit! that doesn't take anymore than common sense.
