ok...i lied about never winning anything in an attempt to enlist an ally...

one time i called into a radio station & was the 10th caller or whatever & they said i won 2 tickets to a monster truck & tractor pull...i never picked up the tickets......

I just recently won tickets to a Harry Connick Jr contest, along with a limo ride there and back as well as a meet in greet. I had to fake jubilation on the airwaves, but it was free, and the limo had liquor. He is not one of my favorite singers, but I like the classic vocal standards. Rich enjoyed it so much that he screamed out FREE BIRD in the middle of the show, and Harry was not covering any Lynrd Skynrd. Yeah, he was only there for me.

i had a friend who had a "tacky party" annually for awhile...people were to bring tacky snacks, wear tacky clothing, tacky hairstyles, tacky presents...see the theme here??  i won first prize 2 years in a row as tackiest person...i met a woman who became my lover at the 2nd one & after we moved in together, she would complain about my tacky belongings...sheeeesh!  what the heck did she expect???

That brings to mind a story from first year in college.

Our dorm had a tacky dance, which neither my friend Evelyn nor i bothered to attend. We were hanging out in the lounge when our RA popped in. Evelyn called out cheerfully, "Oh Rosemary, I see you went to the tacky dance!"

Long, awkard silence.

Rosemary was on her way home from a date.

       I asked that same question when she told me she won the tickets.  He played the serial killer already in prison in Copycat with Sigourney Weaver.  He is also a very nice guy and talented musician, who's style of music I mostly find very annoying.

Actually, now that i think of it, i did win a pair of "Coca-Cola" pants from a local radio station when i was in 7th grade.  They were white cotton hip-hugger, bell-bottoms, with a drawstring waist and they had the red "Coca-Cola" written all over them.  i never wore them. 
 
i wish i still had them.  i could auction them on ebay and maybe get something for them.  i think my mom put them in the Goodwill bag.  Oh, well, i guess i'm not a total "loser" after all. 
 
i can't believe i got sucked into this thing and can't seem to get out now.
