I just love it when someone says you are a dipshit for doing what you do but signs off with "Namaste" as if they are running on some higher plane rather than looking up at me from the gutter.

I know when I am impaired when drinking, nobody is talking about playing at that level of intoxication.  Perhaps you have the proven inability to handle any level of alcohol consumption, I however do not share that weakness.  From years of experience I know that I can have a few drinks and never do anything I wouldn't do if I was sober nor would I do anything I regretted the next day.

While I don't make it a habit of drinking and playing I also am not willing to condemn it broadly either.  I like to be around mature responsible adults who know their own limits regardless of what those limits are.  Clearly I know mine and you seem to know yours.

And I love it, Michael, when someone uses the ol' namaste signoff against me as some kind of auto-negation of what I was expressing. Like because I honor the light within everyone, I can't have a strong opinion, or I can't call bs for what it is when I see it. I have a high opinion of who you have become. But if I think someone is acting like an ass, I can call them on it and in all honesty still sign off with namaste. It is perfectly possible to honor the divine in everyone and still think that the way they act is indefensible.

And for the record, I don't believe I have EVER in all the posts I have made on this site, said I was better than anyone else, or implied I was speaking from some higher plane. You got that merely because my sign off is namaste????? Bit of a stretch don't you think?

I too like to be around mature, responsible adults. I also know a whole lot of people who absolutely "knew their limits" under the effects of alcohol or drugs, where it was very obvious they were far more affected than they believed themselves to be. So maybe some of you really do know your limits, I don't know any of you personally. I DO know that a whole lot of people who say they do, surely do not, which was the point I was trying to make.

Namaste, Sir Dominic

I am impressed with all the people (not just you yrstoccollar) who have posted that they know their limits while playing under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Considering that one of the prime attributes of using said items is an impairment of judgement. Impressive that all of you are the exceptions to this rule. I'll bet you all know just how much you can drink and drive safely too.

Namaste, Sir Dominic

It's got nothing to do with drinking and driving... that's just an inflamatory statement drawing parallels to something which has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand.

I'm talking about knowing how intoxicated you are and your limits under these circumstances. Knowing your limits in this instance is the same as you knowing how much you can drink before you start to get tipsy, how much you can drink before you start to throw up, how much pain you can take before you can't take any more, how long you can play for, how long you can run for... how much of whatever you can do before it isn't fun or you can't or shouldn't do it any more.... everyone is different... you simply learn these things as you grow.

I bet you know exactly how much you can drink before you should stop if you just want to be a little tipsy and I bet you know exactly how much you can drink if you want to have a big drunken evening and when to stop during the night if you don't want to end up in the gutter.

It was the blind ignorance and projection of yourself onto others that negated what you wrote

Being busy judging others is not what honoring people is about

If that is all being honest means to you, then yes you can.

You have never seen me or any of the other INDIVIDUALS (you know, the ones you are busy honoring) act sober, after a few drinks, or drunk off our asses.  You place a higher value on your experience than mine or others, you place a higher value on your judgement than mine or others, I think the only divine you worship is that which you see in the mirror.

In a subculture where we seek to intoxicate our play partners and seek new and innovative ways to bring on that intoxication, stating that alcohol is automatically bad but endorphins are automatically good is hypocrisy at best.

I am seriously anti alcohol and drugs, so to me that means I won't use them, and the one I am with is allowed to, now if AmbivilantBunny wants to have a couple fuzzy navels and play co-ed naked nipple twister, good for him. All I really care is that I am not using any of those, and who I am with isn't.

Edited to add: Not in reply to any one person.

You know...SleepingBeauty...it always amazes me how time and time again when people have a disagreement with me, they go straight for my name lol.

And since its clearly obvious you are making a passive agressive attack on me, your little disclaimer is a bit null and void.

Regardless, let me make it clear that I am not advocating it, but merely adding perspective to a thread full of abolsutes and black and whites.

Well...we are on a forum of discussion that utilizes the "written language" as the form of sole communication. Therefore, if a person is not capable of communicating their ideas without it being a jumble of run on sentences, bad grammar, and horrible misspellings, then it makes discussion here incredibly hard.

To be honest, in most of your threads, I have no idea what the hell you are trying to say besides my own conjecture of your scrabble.

So rather than get mad at us because we have to suffer threw trying to figure out just what the hell you are trying to say, maybe you should work on that flaw.

Perhaps your dyslexic and that is certainly understandable. However, in another thread, I did manage to gather that you a programmer (and therefore intelligent) and that your bad written communication skills is mostly a byproduct of your laziness.

That was just an attempt at humor, a failed attempt, but still just an attempt. The point was really just that do whatever you want, just not with me. My intolerance ends when it doesn't have a direct effect on me.
I don't know you, so have nothing againt you, and I think we were in agreement, just thought it would lighten the mood a bit.

Then I am sorry. I perceived your statement the wrong way. People who have come after me because of my viewpoints in the past tend to go right to some rehash of my name in an attempt to insult me, so I've kind of associated the behavior with an attack. Knee to groin reaction. My apologies.

I can see it now...

The next "Law and Order : SVU" episode...

A dominatrix drinks two glasses of wine, kills her submissive with incompetent hand to ass spankings, and is charged with criminally negligent homicide.
