Do you get your morality from your faith?

No...I'd have to say...definitely not...

Do you think that it is a given thing, that everyone everywhere states the same lines drawn for right and wrong?
That every one has the exact same view of each right or each wrong?

Yes actually, I do believe that...I believe there are SOME absolute right and wrongs that are universal.

And anyone disagreeing with -your- version of "universal absolute right and wrong" would be ... ?

You see, the Fundamentalist Christians have a "universal absolute right and wrong" that would not include extra-marital affairs or poly.

Catholics have a "universal absolute right and wrong" that would preclude all sorts of things petaining to bdsm.

So I am curious regarding the "universal absolute right and wrong" code which -everyone- recognizes that permits the various activities described in these forums.

I didn't say anything about what universal right and wrongs permit and don't permit....weather in this forum or not... I am a Christian. I have a husband of 24 years and a Master... I am not committing adultery. I have my husbands permission and blessing in my journey in this lifestyle. He (my husband) knows the nature and dynamic of a Master/slave relationship...he just doesn't want anything to do with it LOL.My husband also knows I am now collared. This has not been in conflict with my beliefs as a Christian woman.

Last I checked a husband cannot give a wife permission to break the laws of God, which include laws against adultery.

All I can say is that the curriculum for mainstream Christianity must have changed considerably since I last attended, that all of the above should be considered acceptable to a "christian woman".

*smiles* I expected that Bob...but you would be wrong in my opinion...My husband does indeed have the right to share me with any man he pleases.

Of course you would not intervene in that situation either as she consented.

The child did not.

Which doesn't address my response, but it's on topic.

There is nothing in the world that can convince me suicide is a kink.

It is. But everyone gets to choose what parts of reality to disregard.

quote:

Barring the legal status as his ward, I suppose that no matter how painful it is to hear about it, your life is your own to live or destroy in any way you want.

That legal status is just that: a legal status.

Just like it's illegal to use a vibrator in Alabama.
Or illegal to use S&M implements in Nevada.
Or legal to nullify little girls in Somalia.
Or legal to pay 13 year olds for sex in Japan.
Or legal to burn your wife to death in some Middle Eastern countries.

Laws do not morals make.

quote:

I do however think your legal status complicates this issue, and it would be in both you and your Daddy's best interests to have that situation rectified.

Point being that she's agreed to let that be his choice, and that's been clear from the start.

I truly hope that I never see the picture on your profile on the five o'clock news.  But something tells me if I did, quite a few of the 'freedom to be abused' posters here would join in a thread about 'Irresponsible Doms and their effect on how people view the Lifestyle.'

I can't speak for the others, but I would. That and a "Lament for prop" thread.

Health,
al-Aswad.

I'd really love to Aswad...but I'm afraid it wouldn't do any good... know what I'm saying?

Unfortunately, I do.

quote:

I have a sneaking feeling that anything I present as an absolute right or wrong will get picked to pieces...

I've yet to encounter anything that couldn't be analyzed in a rational manner, except belief.

And absolute belief counts is usually labelled zealotry, unless it's about morals.
Funny how those with opposing moral standards are often equally absolute.
Yet that is often the way with zealotry, as well, which is fine...
...as long as it doesn't come knocking on my door.

quote:

I think its kinda scary that we have to even discuss the fact that there are indeed absolute right and wrongs in the world..I would think thats a given....

I think it's scary, too. I would think the opposite position is a given.

Health,
al-Aswad.

I think for others Prop is another in a group of individuals who cannot be 'domesticated' to suit the moods and tastes and concepts of reality and bdsm of these individuals.

Being domesticated is just another way to say "being house-broken."

A line from another post comes to mind, and mutates into this:

"Into the future with teeth bared,
screaming defiance with the last breath,
to spit in the eye of conformity and political correctness at the end of days."

Health,
al-Aswad.

So, which ones, and what makes them universal?
If they are abandoned in the future, is all humanity evil?
If they were not espoused in the past, are we only now good?
If some large culture in our world does not hold them, are they evil?
Should we then wipe them out to purge the world of this universal evil of yours?

See where that notion heads?
The best candidate for universal evil.

al-Aswad.

Gawwwd damn this is funny...there is an absolute right and wrong until there isn't..Got to love that..I think we call that rationalizing. LOL!

No, that wouldn't be fair to those who have no partners.

I think we should think of No Limit scenarios (within the TOS, mind you) and vote on the wickedest for the position.

How long would a slave hold up if strapped to the hood of a car moving 120 km/hr? Assuming a good ticker?

During a good Canadian winter snowstorm?

(hypothetically speaking, of course)

Certainly. Nominate away.

Perhaps you'd care to gather them for a poll later?

My vote goes to "the concept of universal evil is the best candidate for a universally evil concept".

Health,
al-Aswad.

The smiley got lost in the copy-paste as I ran into the CollarMe posting speed limit.

Wonder if I will be getting a ticket soon, with ~3 consecutive pages of posts.

Ya think the topic of personal freedom has some significance to me?
