MaamJay -> RE: Do you feel ovulation when it happens? (9/22/2007 12:50:39 AM)

Yes I often feel ovulation, as sudden severe cramps, generally one-sided, which mercifully don't last as long as premenstrual ones. Sometimes the pain radiates though, and I can double over. The whole vulva hurts and it can be painful to sit down on it (so getting it in the car is a bitch!). I used to spot a bit too, but after an endometrial ablation some years ago (basically My endometrium got "nuked" to try to reduce My periods, worked fairly well), I tend not to spot any more. Sometimes I am also very well aware of the "egg white" mucus secretion that is symptomatic of ovulation (its detection is part of the ovulation method of contraception). Some months I give off a whole (hens) eggs worth! From what I gather, not everyone gets to feel ovulation. Some are not so lucky LOL! However, the one advantage is that no matter how irregular the first "half" of My cycle, I can start counting from ovulation and know when to expect the snarlies and then the onset! Always good to warn others! Maam Jay aka violet[A]
