One could say the exact same thing about face slapping.

If done from a well of insecurity, misogyny, or rage, it's a sure sign of a piss poor excuse for a dominant.

If done within a trusting, loving, well established relationship with ample communication, it can be a tool to enforce desires, set boundaries, and turn the slave into a dripping, hungry puddle of obedience.

Stephan

The thought of a gps chip planted in or on me does not particularly turn me on. But...i have a feeling if my Master tied me down and put one on me i'd be left....a dripping, hungry puddle of....(mmmm drifting off into a warm fuzzy place here....)

Personally as a Geek, I'd love to be sitting, having coffee with people and be able to whip out a pda and check on my girls location.

However it'd be more a fascination for myself (The old Boys and Their Toys line). I wouldn't have it implanted into the body, probably a piece of jewlery.

Hell yes.  I get lost everywhere.  I'd love to be able to call him for directions from my GPS chip!

This was my first thought too..lol.. Years ago my best friend and i decided we were the president and vice president of "See Americas by Accident" Club..lol...

As for D/s purposes, i'm not sure i'd be okay with it or not, but it would depend on the reasons behind why (lack of trust, concern) especially if it was become someone in my partner's life had been untrustworthy.  It would seem (to me) like being punished for the actions of another...

i was chatting with a guy - first chat - He told me that if i was His sub/slave, He would want to put a GPS chip in my body or at least in a necklace for me to wear.

i said no that this smacks of lack of trust to me.  and then i wished Him good luck on His search, and i was glad that we found out early that we wouldnt be compatible... Frankly, the question made me wonder about His ability to be a Dom...and then i wondered if it wouldnt just be another way to humiliate or control me.... and then, my head started spinning.

Anyway, what is Your opinion about GPS chips... would You use them?  if so, why? when

Safety.  I would consider one only in a situation where someone not being easily locatable could be dangerous in the long run.

For a sub just because I don't think I can control them enough to know with near certainty where they are going to be?  Yeah, I need to get another sub at that point.

I could see me chipping a slave. However I doubt that I would be bothered to monitor it - it would be more a case of making her think that her every move was being watched :). So in practical terms it would be just as effective to make her believe that she had been chipped... hrm... /me ponders

If my Dom put a GPS Chip either through jewelry or on me, i would consider it red flag alert that he could be one of many things, possesive, jealous, controlling, etc. No, i would never get one and if my Dom tells me, he wants to put one on me, i'd run

Might be hard to swallow a cellphone.

Well, of course- however many now are small and round and smooth enough to wrap in a condom, and insert vaginally- having been set to the vibrate feature.

Then calling her at One's leisure does in fact sound wickedly pleasurable.

If He did put one on me, His first question after a short time would be...... "Are you having an affair with someone at Walmart?  Cuz you sure seem to go there a lot!"

That kind of chip is an RFID chip, and none are approved for human use.  In addition, it wouldn't have the range to located someone.

As said previously, there's no implantable GPS system to date.

Cannot see the need for this, unless for some reason one or the other of T/them has a morbid fear of kidnapping.  And anyway how would it work?  Is there a ""Home Again" system for humans?

Gheesh, even alzheimer's patients are just given ankle bracelets.

Broaching that in the first chat is asinine. I find the idea of RFID tagging appealing to me, under the right circumstances. Personally, I see it as a way to help bridge distances if circumstances prevent much physical proximity for long periods of time and giving me the ability to step in quickly if needed or desired. This also could interplay in interesting ways when mixed with kidnapping play (a third party does the kidnapping, then the dom tracks the sub/slave down using the chip and rescues her).

There are some practical issues, especially dealing with signal degradation (damn the square law!). I bet one could make an implantable version that used a waystation to boost the signal. The waystation (being heavier and bigger) could be kept in a purse or a car. This would limit the operational distance to within a certain range of the waystation, but I think it would be an idea worth investigating. Another option would be to put the transmitter in an article not easily removed, say with a lockable clasp or something similar. It is not something that makes sense nor is appealing for every relationship.

Oh God someone just has to get technical in the middle of my hot thought attack.
Cherry gets it, it doesn't even matter if it can or cannot be done, its the the fact that there exist women out there (and most likely men too, but its women I focus on) who get turned on by it. Its bent, its degrading, its taking objectifying someone to brand new uncharted levels, like Star Trek squared. It's awesome.
Its even American, why use a new innovative idea, just come up with some low cost technology like smart boxes.
Hey maybe thats what we should call subs with chips in them
smart boxes
chortles.

Its like branding
Would I ever do it, most likely not, but damn, the idea has sizzle.
Its too bad the guy who came up with it sounds like an ass, because otherwise I would want to applaud him for coming up with this one.Damn man, if you could only have waited till like the third date, you could be a legend....

Meanwhile someone is getting technical in my fantasy
Ugh

I am such a sci-fi geek. I love the idea! Chip me in, put Borg implants in me, outfit me with an implanted zapper, whatever ... I'd love it! ::laughs::

Broaching the subject in a first chat is going to guarentee more chats with 'me'. To each their own, yanno? Obviously, some women will appreciate it, some will run from it. Broaching it doesn't mean the guy is asinine at all. It just means it's something that is of obvious interest to him.. as it would be to me.

Wow, i love all the feedback.... and as for the whole lack of trust thing... man i am so trustworthy - i CANT lie, just cant remember the lies.... so if i say i am somewhere, i am... and if for some reason i am not - better call a tow truck because i have a flat tire or something.   With all Y/your feedback, i have kind of rethought this a bit... i do rather like the idea of being monitored and made to give a full account of my day... but i have a notebook and a pen and a watch for that... and hey - as pointed out there are GPS in phones.... my phone is with me and on because of work all the time.

And just for the record, i am a sleeper geek - Y/you don't know i am right away, but eventually it becomes clear....  i loves all that sci fi stuff!

LOL love this....too funny...and i would think if a remote could work a GPS system then most M's would want one just cause they could use a remote.....

i have to echo others here.  The idea of wearing a gps as a piece of jewelry is hot, hot HOT.  i would not, however, want one implanted....i am not into body modification.  But geezus make it a part of my collar.... wow!
