Aside from the humorous sidetrack....... I've been thinking about this thread after reading various points.
To be honest, my kneejerk reaction was something akin to the "cheap bastard" points. However, after reading some good points, and thinking about it, I cannot criticize the guy. There is no way to know what his intention was AND it appears she doesn't know either.
It all comes down to does a slave/submissive submit to only the things they like? Well the Sub Slave Handbook 101 I read, said that giving over total control meant submitting to ALL of their dominants wishes. So, regardless of intention, I think that means said sub/slave retrieves said drink and likes it. Then waits patiently for their dominant to determine their next act. Not pout because she was not offered a beverage.
Considering the situation in that vein kinda led me to consider it from a different perspective. What if he did it just to see how she would behave? If I were he, I would say good riddance. If she cannot comply without throwing a hissyfit over something as mundane as a beverage.....lord knows she is probably going to cut and run with the important shit. I don't think you can have it both ways, full of vanilla acts when it pleases the sub/slave then all fun and kinky bossy when it turns them on. If thats the case then it seems less a M/s relationship is desired and more of a vanilla with kink.

I will say it was also my first thought, that he was somewhat of a cheap ass... but then again I have to totally agree with the fact she was given a task and didnt seem to care for the circumstances of not being allowed or given a drink.
On the side of that I have to ask what she means by play partners? For me a play partner can be someone I have a M/s scene with no submission required, to a D/s dynamic, where while together I am submissive.To me there appears a vague definition of just what kind of relationship she was having with the Dominant.
Also if this was in the spetrum of a D/s playpartner status, taking her to a pub, even if not allowing her an alcoholic drink should not preclude her needing a beverage, perhaps soda or coffee. If a Dominant I am playing with asked me to an evening out, I would assume since the invite was from him, he would be paying for the event. If I was taken to a pub, and given funds to purchase only him an alcoholic beverage I would have asked if I could also have one, or perhaps assumed I was not being allowed alcohol for the evening and requested a coffee or something.
Altogether this situation seemed to have been handled with a poor response on her behalf by simply walking out on him.
