Without a doubt, all ways of thinking are benefitting from the exchanges, even if simply to illustrate more clearly to each what they don't believe. In this way, one could perhaps compare the mass influx with the idea of the "helpful enemy." As viruses invading a body inevitably make its immune system stronger, so too our ideologies become tested and honed in the face of challenge from the many tentacles of orthodox thinking.

One thing I can say for sure is that I know where I stand. No amount of misinformative trendiness in the world will make me blink. If we are safe and secure in our values and aims, it should matter little to us how ignorant others are. The transience and folly of "the shifting flow" will only make us look better to the more serious within the fold.
