Then sing me the Rime of the Ancient Mariner......

Or dance me the dance of slavegirls.

Or both.

The Rhyme of the Ancient Marine:

There once was an elderly seadog
Whose penchant it was to be flogged
There was hue and cry
And all the girls sighed
"Oh I wish it were me in those togs"

Dance of the Slavegirl:

With rings of steel on her wrists and bells on her ankles
she will dance for all and hope no one rankles
at the fact that her sirik is adorned with rust
and the silk is filthy as it lays on her bust.
With graceful moves she hopes to convey
that the Master she serves will come right away
to the alcove she's chosen with much aforethought
and make her the woman she thought she was not.
When breath has failed her and limbs grow loose
she looks over and finds him holding the noose
that will go 'round her neck.  And with any luck
the next thing she gets is a good hard........

Um.....no...  but really close.
Think for a minute.

(Actually, I'm thinking a good hard just about anything would work right at that moment)

Did he also ask for an explanation from your Master?
Sheesh!

(good for me that every time I write something funny like that I tell Him. I might have had a lot to answer for if I didn't.

I don't have a master to ask; he at least figured that out.  But I'm pretty sure that I am one of those who has caused all this disintegration going on .........being one of those cheap thrill seeking people who wouldn't understand submission if it hit me in the ass!  ( or is that bit me in the ass???)

Ah yeah, catize, but it ended up so much fun.  I mean really, how seriously could anyone take a thread that started out like this one did.  How can we be twue or weal if we're not 243 years old and swinging a whip whilst trudging through 3 ft of snow for 5 miles one way and 7 back uphill both ways in a blinding thunderstorm having had no breakfast or warm coat and mitties?   Methinks disintegration has a lot going for it.

I suppose that the only constant is change. I remember my first inkling of what was to be my path in life after asking my mother why the sheets on her bed were black. "So the blood won't show." It started there and now some of the paddles I use today are several hundred years old and will be passed on to my son who began borrowing my "traveling bag" when he was 16. Our lifestyle is evolving. How many crime shows openly talk about BDSM as a lifestyle? I just watched an episode of Criminal Minds on Tivo and there were endless scenes of graphic drawings so complex and detailed as to invoke my memories of the family diaries. Everything is changing. My father found my mother by dating endles women and I found my current wife on alt.com in 1999. My oldest son found the woman who will become his wife online 3 years later. What I learned reading diaries in the attic my yougest son will learn watching in front of the television. I am happy that the secrecy is fading, for I have always felt that I am as normal as the next person and I get no added thrill from hiding who I am, and what I do. The way I live my life is as essential as breathing and eating. We should neither lament, nor rejoice, in this changing face of our private passions, we should simply do everything we can to be sure they do not fall backward once again into the hidden folds of our society. We have an opportunity, let's not lose it, waste it, or use it poorly.

Who's hiding all the other 300+ year old paddles??  Would make an awesome birthday present for someone I know.

I don't know about 300+ year paddles but I recently got "the strap" by a real old-fashioned school strap wielded by a real ex-principal.  Man oh man, he had had practice at that!  lol

I sure don't think so. Those whom the lifestyle appeals to will be motivated to research through books, magazines, websites, etc. Just because a few people on alt personals are jackasses and liars doesn't mean that any type of lifestyle is disintegrating. I mean, look at ANY personal or networking site. There are quite a few untruthful tools on every one.
