i would have to ask the same question about the women ..how can a 21 year old woman be a mistress ? sure she might be good eye candy but what experience does she have ? ecspecially if she is a so called pro dom looking to get paid ?? suxs when the bottom is more experienced then the top ?  and why pay for that ? when she should be paying you to be her guinea pig so to speak ? maybe 25 ..but surely not 21 ..mal

females are lucky..they are more mature at a younger age (at least they think so)
so the 21 question doesn't fit :P

Napoleon was a general at 26, and Alexander began his conquest of the Persian empire at 22. Granted such men are rare. However, controlling a single submissive is a bit easier than conquering large sections of the world.

So true, but well..let us not compare ourself with the great ones.
Most leaders in the world are older people....  not saying why..else we will have lots of more pages
(but we know they can mess up a lott too)

Most leaders are older because they have to rise up through the system. It's not everyone who can take advantage of the total collapse of the political system, or the convenient, perhaps too convenient, death of his father.

Not to mention that the modern military - in many nations - has physical restrictions that would keep out the Caesars, Napoleons, Alexanders, Czar Peters, etc.

I would also like to add that the (supposed) ease of controlling one submissive - rather than large sections of the world - depends on the submissive. I'm not naming names, of course.

My friend’s 20 year old son who is 2nd generation jokingly bills himself as a noob Dom when posing his ideas to a group of older lifestylers.  However, I see him more as a young Master being he successfully established respect in the BDSM community at teh age of 19 while running a public dungeon, coordinating public events and maintaining a M/s relationship with collared property.

You go Justin!!!

I was introduced to the lifestyle by an experienced slave, she saw who I was, what I was even before I had the terminology to understand it Myself. she became My first Owned girl, I was her Master... I was 15!

I took the responcibilitys seriously, had a duty of care and compaired to much I see happening even now from people the age I am now, that young Man doesn't compair too disfavourably. Compaired to who I am now Myself however the list of shortcomings is a long one, in short whilst at that age I was serious and willing to take up the responcibilitys I didn't have the life experience to fully understand what those responcibilitys entailed.

From My perspective now, would I see that 15 year old as a Master?... yes... but not really a good one.

So, no I have no problem believing a 21 yr old could be a Master, though I would think there was less of a chance that He would be as good one than someone older.... HOWEVER age is one of the smaller aspects, maturity and age don't go hand in hand. Many of the dims out there are in their 30's, 40's, 50's, 60+ and even an inexperienced Master in His teens or early twentys who is doing His best to get it right and learn to do it better is worth more than all the collective dims of any age.

We ALL start somewhere!

...and gain experience and knowledge

ps there is more leadership then the great old ones and the military. Look at your work , look at school, politicians, CEO of big companies.

there are always great exceptions. I am sure we all respect those (welcome Justin).
But let be honest. IF you take  10.000 of those who are 21, how many would have that skill and that level of maturity.
I think the OP has a more "general" view in mind, then the "special" people amongst us.

the thing I love about "younger" people is they still dare to do a lott ( no breaks because of experience perhaps??) and they have a fresh view.

did you notice how many people said that in this thread?
Every one finds his or her life more hard then the other, saying it gave them more experience then the other. (not saying in this case it is not true).
Guess it is human to have the need to be better then others. No matter what age

Are you reading the same quote?  Jesus Christ, where the hell do you get that I'm trying to piss and moan that I've had the hardest life ever, or trying to be better than everyone else?

Reading comprehension skills, people!  Let's go!  Should have learned this in high school!

Often it is in the reader's own mind what tone they hear. Even though there is no "tone" to be heard in text. I see/hear it all the time here at home with my vanilla partner. She will read posts to me putting her vocal inflections that she imagines exist, but I would not reading it myself. I call her on it regularly.
