I'll take your word for it. I completely agree with you that (if you are correct, and I dispute that we are naturally wired to bitch) it's within our power to check on these behaviours and to modify them. I don not really like the term bitch as it kind of describes a 24/7 approach to being bitchy with other females and men but yes in the nature versus nurture I believe this is significantly more on the nature side then nurture side. We women are very competitive with each other and without the ability to step back and view reality it often becomes personal when a situation hits a nerve in one of us. I think the tendency is to make a gross generalization but I think the bitchiness comes out in most of us only in specific things that are specific to ourselves and personality. toservez, with all respect I ask that you consider that ALL women do not have the same natural instincts that you feel we do. I've rarely felt competitive with women. (or men) It just simply is not my nature. I find that I do have the ability to step back and view reality and contemplate why I might be feeling upset rather than react in a manner I will regret later. Granted, it is not always the easiest path to take but it is, in my eyes, the mature one.
