I wanted to start this thread reaching out to those Dominas that are just a tad overweight or are quite a bit overweight.Being overweight myself and working on it,i can sympathize.I know all of us have different thoughts regarding the size of the Domina and Dominas have those same thoughts about subs.My point is i have saying for those of you out there trying to cope with the little padding as time marches on,or the extra padding.Simply put"if there ain't no meat on the bone, what's the sense of sitting down to eat'???Be well all and be blessed.

I gain a few during the winter months and lose it when spring comes. I don't worry about it too much any more. Eat healthy and exercise, avoid the garbage like soda and fake sweetners, corn sweetners, eat whole grains and lots of fresh fruits and veggies, drink alot of water.

Simple stuff really.

I have had to learn how to love myself, no matter how I look, providing I am doing the best with what I have. I am not skinny by any stretch of the imagination, nor am I overly obese (Though some may argue about that lol) I am who I am.
I must say that the clothing companies are coming out with cuter clothes for us on the more fluffy side lol my pup called me a "love balloon" this morning lmao. He loves my big ass and that is all that matters to me. I don't normally respond on threads like this, but what the hell, there is always a first <s>

This is  right up My alley.   I often tell people that I'm no stick, though I don't quite make it into the BBW category either.  My current sub is a wonderful cook, who feeds Me quite well.  I know I've put on a couple of pounds since he came into My life.  As I've gotten older (yes, I say older because I'm approaching 40) I've found that I don't concern Myself as much with it.  I'm comfortable in My skin, and that tends to be more important to Me.  My outer appearance to someone who doesn't know Me isn't nearly as important as My inner happiness.

Since I turned seven I began packing on extra pounds, everyone in my family has weight issues I'm just glad that I'm one of the 'skinny' ones and can walk.  I agree with LaTigresse winter months do add to weight gain that usually comes off during the summer. I'm one of the lucky ones to have found a sub who does not care that I'm not a twig. In fact he likes my squishiness I've learned through him that I should be proud of my size and my curves. Just because I dont look like the cover girl on cosmo does not mean that I'm not sexy.~Lorelei

I think it might be different for the male Doms. I assume the female subs and switches get dozens or hundreds of replys. I got almost no response originally. I've dropped 45 pounds over 4 months and I'm starting to get reponses. I'm still a long way from a washboard stomach; however, I figure in about 9 months I'll be fairly HWP and financially free. I hate to say it - but based on my past experience that will make me more attractive to the sub/slave of my future.

I'm trying to lose weight for my health - I'm at high risk for high blood pressure and diabetes due to family history ... and I don't want either, plus I have a bad knee from an old injury.  It's not easy, I'm failing fairly miserably at the moment ... but as others have said, it's winter - I can't get out as much, and trying to use the exercise ball with 5 dogs playing "knock mommy off the ball" is damn near impossible LOL (at least none of them have popped this one *sigh*).  I know that I'll lose about 30lbs this summer as long as I stick to my goals, which, since I have Holly kicking my ass, I'm sure that I will.

As for my looks - I'm happy with them.  I am NOT losing weight because of appearance, or because people have told me that I'm fat/ugly/whatever.  Yeah, I know that other people will probably find me more attractive as I lose weight, but that's not why I'm doing it.  I'm doing it because of my knee, and my risk for some serious diseases down the road.  And I've had reactions on both sides of the fence - some have told me that I'm hideous because of my size (or have told me, in response to me trying to lose weight, things to the effect of "good, you're a cow" lol), and others have lamented that I'm trying to shed the pounds because they think I'm perfect how I am.

I do not want to be like my aunt, who can barely walk; or some of my coworkers who breathe heavy with the slightest exertion.  So I'm losing the weight for my health, not my looks.  I wish I could be healthier without losing the weight, but ... since that's not likely, I guess I'll lose it *shrugs*

I think some many cultures have a very narrow view of what is healthy and what is not healthy in terms of weight.

I know people who look skinny who have heart problems, blood pressure problems, and are on all sorts of meds. Hell, there's an entire new market for drug makers that focus on these "action, seemingly healthy" people who have these health issues.

I may be overweight by "charts" but I don't have an of those problems often blamed on weight.

The only people qualified to tell you if you are unhealthy or healthy is your doctor and that depends on what they use to determine it -- if they are only weighing you, they don't have a clue either. If someone tells you that you NEED to lose weight for your health and they are not your doctor, don't listen to them because they cannot possibly know.

I maintain a very soft and voluptuous figure even when I am at the peak of physical condition.  I feel best when I train hard enough to be quite muscular under the soft layer, and I find that if I gt enough exercise a week, especially weight-lifitng and yoga/stretching, it keeps me relatively pain free.  I still have a certain amount of stiffness when I've been sitting too long, no matter what shape I'm in, simply because arthritis set in very early--I have already put it off fifteen years longer than my mother did, and slowed it considerably.

*shrug*  Ideals of beauty in my society are largely inspired by hatred of women and a desire to make them weak and small.  My only interest in most media depictions of the female body is to recognize these depictions as actively hostile, and a source of widespread mental illness in women and girls of all ages.  We are a culture of mutilation, in which even healthy, widely-loved media figures are the victims of vandals.  Performing a mastecomy on someone like Queen Latifah or Jennifer Connelly is no more civilized than riding by a Greco-Roman statue on horseback and hacking off its head--it's a barbarous, hateful thing to do.

Many people start threads on sites like this which are basically about judging someone ELSE'S body, which seems like a sad and negative practice.  I thought this one was worth replying to because it seemed to OP was more about loving and accepting your own body, and shaping it to please yourself.  I would agree with the women who say that the important thing is to love yourself and find someone who is able to appreciate you.  As a domme, I find that meeting some externally imposed ideal doesn't interest me much.  It's more important to decide who I want to be.

ohh chezz chezz, a great post--oy--like LT, I put a few pounds on in the winter as we don't work the horses as much--this time, due to the grief after losing Mom, I out on way more--so I am now working to lose those, I  have a large goal and a realistic plan---however, you know Me well enough to know I am pretty comfortable in Me---yet I have to lose this due to high BP.

what I see though are many boys who specify, " i want to serve a Domina-who is blah blah blah" and its a physical description, often the perfect shape--so  shallow, so very shallow--but then the world can be shallow.

i think most people put on more weight than normal during the winter season.  simply put if there is snow outside or its too cold...one doesnt feel like going out and doing a run or whatever they do in the summer.

im not fat nor overweight...but i have been 196 lbs once...it completely disgusted me to be that big.  because i felt "why bother" when it wouldnt do anything to help my weight.  but i got fedup because i was getting sick too often.  (i fainted/vomited more than i usually do with my heart condition when i was big).  so i took 5 yrs to lose the weight.  am now a health 135..was as low as 125(too low really).  now im in a routine where i can eat whatever i want and i dont gain.  as long as i do my exercises at night.  i havent got sick for some time unless there is alot of snow on the ground or it rains/snows while im out.  but that has to do with my heart and not my weight now.

I think as we get older we tend to put on a little extra weight, at least for the most part. It comes with being a bit less active i guess. There are enough things to worry about when starting a new relationship, worrying over a few extra pounds isnt one of them, in my opinion. Better someone large and honest than slim and a liar.

I keep my weight off by smoking a pack and half of cigarettes and drinking about 5-8 cups of  black coffee everyday.  LOL.  It's not exactly a healthy way to do it.

Or you could take 111mgs of phentermine and call it a day...

When I was younger, I fell for all the hype that you had to be skinny to be worth anything.  I have since learned that just because I weight more then the chart at the doctor's office does not mean that I'm worthless.  Yes, I have a 5 hr glass figure and not an hour glass figure.  Yes, I am currently working on keeping my flexablity and movement due to spinal injury, but I'm also relatively healthy and definately happy with who I am and that matters more then anything else in this world.

Lady Hathor, thank you as always for the kind words.I had forgotten that you had lost your mom..i am so sorry to hear that and i know the grieving process can take us all down a road of indulging to ease the pain of losing a loved one.I know you are Wiccan,so i won't get into a "she's in a better place" routine. But i do have a rather skewered view of that place. If you wish i will share it with you someday.Be well.

I know all of us have different thoughts regarding the size of the Domina and Dominas have those same thoughts about subs.

Many years ago, I lost a Lady to the accumulated effects of an eating disorder.  Since then, I've developed an aversion to women who are too thin, or who are constantly fixated on their weight.  It revives bad memories, and reduces my enjoyment of their company.

In terms of physical attraction, it isn't necessarily their dress size or weight that matters most.  If a woman feels she is sexy, that tends to project outward in how she walks, stands, sits, and other elements of her body language.

Of course, it is what is inside her head that counts the most.  The right attitude combined with an active imagination is what really counts to me...and outward appearances are no indicators of what is in someone's head.
