I just got up to feed the kittehs and myself, and just got the worst scare of my life! I went into the kitchen, turned on the lights, fed the kittehs, and decided I wanted a sammich for breakfast. So, I open the refrigerator door, get what I need, and when I turn back to close the fridge door, I see the BIGGEST effin bug on the wall of the kitchen I have ever seen! Even bigger than the last one that I had to kill and dismember........I yell, drop the (plastic, thank goodness) Miracle Whip jar on my foot, bang my (oh, so NOT) funny bone on the corner of a shelf, and send kittehs running everywhere. I grab a spatula from the counter, ready to do battle to the death, turn around, and........ discover that I am a total dolt.....in a continuing effort to be more organized, I hung a command hook in the kitchen by the light switch to hang my car keys on. It's just about eye level, and I did it so I can stop wandering around looking for my keys when I leave the house. Looks like the damn spider from Arachnophobia!!!!!! The kittehs now think it's proof positive that their mom is a total ass.....I'm still laughing hysterically about the sight I must have been! Where's the video camera when ya need one?????

The last time I did do an EMG, I nearly gave the poor tech a upper hook with my unaffetive right hand. Afterward, when I see the poor guy, I know he is muttering "no EMG please..."

I blame that movie and Kingdom of Spiders for my phobia. I am scareed to death when a wood spider decides the weave its web on the trailer. When I was a kid on the farm, I used to grab grasshoppers and toss them on the web of a garden spider. It was fun to see the spider in action.

Shar, I don't mind seeing spiders in action on say, Discovery or Nova, but in real life.....sorry, the only GOOD spider is a dead one! I know they are good for the environment and all, but I don't have bugs on the inside of my house, so they need to stay where they belong, I'll stay where I belong! shudderheebiejeebieshudder

Spider phobe here too. Yuck! Monster 5 threw a daddy long legs on me in the pool couple weeks ago. He regrets his decision still nods

Oh no.....if anyone is ever stupid enuf to throw a bug at me, and there have been a few, once the offending bug is stomped into a grease spot, the idiot is next...... It helps if one remembers that I multi-task extremely well....once my partner (cop) threw a black pen top at me acting like it was a cockroach, and I stomped on the top and flattened it......in one step......and also launched a binder at him that hit him square in the forehead. He was lucky, I was carrying a gun at the time......the fact that I didn't shoot him says a lot about my self control!

Hi all! Oh, and spider phobe's techical term is Arachnophobia. There was a movie about it 20 years ago. God, am I that old?

Texas schools started on the 23rd. I usually get a call if someone not naming reptile's name has a question or two. I also told her to get the glue sticks since there is no more stotch tape.
