ShaharThorne -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (9/7/2010 5:05:59 AM)

I was taking a shower at 2am.  This morning I figure to get a head start.  Guess I will have cereal for breakfast.

at 9:15, I have to endure a EMG.  Wonder if there is someone I can hit or scream at which I get hit on a trigger point.

So, I got the insurance statement today from the hospital for Butterheads rabies visit.  Over 1800 dollars.  The crappy part is that you cannot get the vaccine from anywhere else.  Such as her regular physician.  You HAVE to get it from the ER.  It is un-fucking-believeable.  Especially considering it is a life or death matter.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (9/7/2010 12:18:03 PM)

At least the poor thing doesn't HAVE rabies. ~Hugs for Aylee and Butterhead~

ShaharThorne -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (9/7/2010 12:23:07 PM)

I know how the ER bills get so high, especially if you are uninsured.  I am paying an ER for the stupid flu!  Just give me the meds so I can stop vomiting and none of the stuff that makes me itch...

Luckily I did get my flu shot early this year...and I did not have to ask for it...

This is true.

SorceressJ -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (9/7/2010 1:05:29 PM)

Ok, apparently I missed the memo where Butterhead had to go for a rabies vacc (like, what the hell happened)..?! We deal with wildlife and rabies issues on this end, so I know for a fact that shit ain't even funny, but that being said, I too am glad that Butterhead is ok..
(about that cost thing: I know that the medical establishment has to get paid somehow, but this whole point of charging someone a month's pay or more for, say, a lifesaving shot or a ride in an ambulance, humane things that anyone should be able to just -have- for the asking, is just ridiculous. My two cents only. [sm=2cents.gif] We now return you to your regularly scheduled programme..)

OMG, not even for kids you get it for free??? Would have almost been cheaper to get her in a plane over to here and to get it here instead [8|]

Urmel and his mom went to the vet today, he for his first shots and she for her update...chose to get him done first as her attitude at injections sucks big times at times (never had a cat who gave vets such an attitude, last time, despite that she was dehydrated when she had a urine infection, she hissed at my vet as if she would be a lyon...and before that, before she was pregnant she needed once 2 injections as she had a little temperature (during that time he was vomiting every day at some point) and after she had her 2nd injection she hissed at the vet several times as if she is saying "don't you dare to touch me ever again." I never had a cat with such an attitude, seriously. Even curry, about whom I was told he tried to get up the bare walls when he was about to get neutered is a lamb when it comes to injections...but not summer...she is having none of it. however, today it was ok...but I still didn't give it a chance, so at first urmel with his injection and then mommy as I did not want him to potentially see her having a hissy madness fit...but she was fine today [:)]

Afterwards both got the new treatment which is available against worms and fleas (both in the same stuff to put in the neck, so no force anymore to swallow a tablet)...and then he sold me a 6-er pack so I could do my other furrys as well...strangely none of them was impressed about that [8|]

My dog isn't eating well. Very lethargic as you would expect when he hardly ate over the holiday weekend. We see the vet in the morning. Let's hope it isn't anything severe.

Have to remember to get heartworm pills also.

Sending (((((hope))))) for your dog over the pond.

I have to say I shook my head again today in the vet waiting room, that it is quite bizarre how different cats and dogs respond to things....the stuff snails/slugs can carry with them is a problem for dogs, but not for cats (which was my worry when summer ate at least 5 of them during her pregnancy), then chocolate (if I remember it correctly) is ok for dogs (not that you should give it to them but it wouldn't kill them) whereas it can kill cats...and also the flea treatment for dogs is not suitable for cats as it can kill the cat...you could think they would be quite similar but so obviously are not how their body responds to such stuff....(sorry but it just feels a bit weird to me that fact).

ShaharThorne -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (9/7/2010 4:17:51 PM)

It was 5;30 and no one woke me up?

Then the computer decided to get funky and I had to get on the floor, working on the connections.  Of course when I am down sitting Indian style fixing the the funky computer, Mom goes "you can do it" and I am seeing Adam Sandler in several movies...especially the dreadlocks fella from "The Hot Chick".

I have to get myself up, not letting anyone help me unless its a hand to the butt...LOL!

Mom is the same way..She got my nephew to give her a boost up and he had to use her butt to push her up...I think he is scarred for life (grandma butt kills any and all romance for the fairier sex...)

So I am on my knees and mom is going "you're halfway there" (wise words Mom...)and suddenly my waists starting burnning up.  I Push my way up completely.

I just want to go back to bed...arrange the pillows into a soft posture and go to sleep....*meow*

Chocolate is poisonous for dogs also. And yes, when there was a low allergy cat in the house we used Frontline on the dog, now that we're catless he gets Advantick(sp) instead.

Hitting head on wall about the stupidity of the school. Kidlet started yesterday, we planned his schedule in the spring, came in over the summer to double check it, got a written confirmation of it last week. Walked in yesterday to discover the principal changed it all around for no reason. He lost the English teacher he likes and was put in the class of one he dislikes, was stuck in a craft class full of 14 year old girls, lost the study hall first period he had worked to get, etc. All in one week. Hopefully guidance can put it back to normal today otherwise I go in this afternoon and tell her that waiting until school started is totally unacceptable. If she had a problem with his schedule, then it should have been addressed months ago. But her incompetence is no reason for my kid to pay.
