Status: offline 		I've heard so much about "sub frenzy", but I was wondering if there was such a thing as Dom/me frenzy? Is that not as common as sub frenzy? And if not, why not?

Status: offline 		according to a couple of dommes that posted a reply to my reply, in the health and safety forum about 30 minutes ago, the domme to male submissive ratios is soooooooooo big, that they honestly believe that submissves(especially male) should be and are, willing to jump through hoops like circus dogs to get and keep their attention, so i'd say that's probably a good reason why some, not all, don't really experience frenzy, per se.

as for the doms experiencing frenzy, yeah, i've seen it in dominant men that are friends and are looking for mates rather than playmates.

soooooooo, like starving sharks, frenzy generally occurs when certain basic needs aren't being met, regardless of ones gender.

Status: offline 		I get it.  As mentioned, it's most akin to a shark's feeding frenzy.  Sometimes it goes passed the point of being 'safe'.  That's why I tell all my boys that the 'Safe Word' is my real name.  Sometimes, we all need that jolt back to reality.

Status: offline 		I'm reminded of years ago when I had the kid in a candy store thing going on. Sometimes when things start going well it's very easy to become full of yourself even if you have the best intentions. Or is that just being greedy?

Status: offline 		Yeah, there's such a thing as dom frenzy.  Its when the d-type is responding primarily to their own need to dominate and only secondarily to the submissive.  It can be dangerous if you're on the receiving end of the whip because they aren't responding to your cues.   They're just hitting on you without really creating or maintaining a connection or energy flow.

Status: offline 		I understand sub frenzy to be that frantic desire to hook up with the first Dom/me that looks their way when they first discover this lifestyle. Often involves disregarding all the usual safety considerations they would normally put in place, and often ends disastrously at least in terms of broken hearts, hopefully not including broken bodies. Can be experienced again when a long term D/s relationship breaks down and the sub is cast loose back into the sea of subs searching for Dom/mes.

Some posters seem to have a different take on the Dom/me version of this and have translated it to when Dom/mes play and lose themselves in that. I would call that more Topspace rather than frenzy. I would consider Dom/me frenzy to be more equivalent to the sub version, in that Dom/mes get driven in their search for a suitable sub. I've not experienced it as quite the same oblivious drive as the sub version (and remember, I'm BOTH!) ... though in a muted way, it is what keeps Me searching through disappointments. Though it is fair to say that my sub side didn't experience a full-blown frenzy in that my sanity and safety precautions remained functional ... though i do recall an incredible desire to find One to submit to! And i am so glad i have found Him.  Now if I could just find a sub ... *sigh*

Status: offline 		Yeah, I was probably one of those jerks once when I was in the Dom frenzy thing. I probably deserved every bad thing that happened to me and lots did. I matured and started to look at people as people without the labels and my life has been much better.

Status: offline 		Hmmmm ... when I first starting topping or domming, I went through a spate of people.  There was *always* someone I was playing with or getting to know.  I figured out what I liked by trying different things.  Is that domme frenzy?  If so, yup, I've done it!  (smiling)

I recently got out of a courtship with someone, and I miss him, but also miss expressing that type of energy with someone.  I'm assholey and feel like something is missing.  If that's domme frenzy, I've done that one, too.
