If you go back and read ALL the threads, you would see that I said I follow the mirror style of responding to threads that identify ME in the post, as opposed to what was SAID in the post. And I clearly see... you STILL don't get it.. even after admitting my intentions were honorable.

If someone follows proper ettiquette, I will follow suit. If they lash out, point an accusational finger, act rude, yadda yadda yadda, then all bets are off and I give them whatever I want... without intentionally crossing the boundaries of TOS.

My post did NOT ask anyone's opinion, it stated a situation. If someone wants to personalize it, they are ignoring my request in the post to NOT take for granted about a half a dozen 'givens.'

Clearly some people are not satisfied with a post if it was not written by someone with a lot of paddles. Some will test the limits of this site as far as they can push it and get a thrill that they can even earn paddles for their efforts. I see a lot of ego in this posts and not enough 'questions' with emotions set aside.

And truthfully, I'm tired of explaining this -- I got over ten emails from members who did NOT post in this thread who said I should not respond to the abuse posted in this thread, these people only come here to wreck threads and I am wasting my time even responding.

People who pick apart statements by analyzing miniscule components and ignoring the caveats and disclaimers are not really interested in debate, communication or intellectual discourse --- they are here to bring attention to only themselves.

Which one are you?

Ang

I already told you twice... if you followed proper debate ettiquette, I would oblige your requests. *sigh*

Yeah...you're a liar. End of.

Okay Ang

Now I see how you work.

If you post barbed questions and don't get the response YOU want, then the other person is a liar. I could be wrong   ... but to me...  that sounds like a person experienced with getting therapy, and clearly not someone trained to give it... but then again, I am just a liar out to hurt women as your fool-proof instincts tell you.

*sigh*

I was pointing out the hypocracy in you asking somebody to use "proper debate ettiquette" and you presenting many of the opposites in your own postings.  Using logical fallacies is sometimes seen as poor form in "proper debate ettiquette"

I agreed with the post you made in clarification, that does not mean that I subscribe to your philosophy.  Also if you choose to use me as an example in a post, I will simply mirror, and present the facts.  I did not insert opinion, I simply claimed that if you wish to debate by a certain set of rules that both parties should agree, and you should definitely lead by example, not by ridicule.

I still applaud the intentions you stated in the clarification post, and I will close with a bit of advice this time.

If you wish to have a discussion or debate, perhaps you should think about your presentation... becoming persona non grata usually isn't the best way to get a message out there.  Just something to think about.

There was no hypocracy in the statement.

I told Ang .. let's start over.

She refused.

Also, you are referring to the 'leading by example' method. If you ever worked in a theapuetic treatment center, you would see that the lead by example is the given.. but once someone in that environment breaks example, there are consequences that mirror the real world... it's not going to be 'turn the other cheek.'

In the real world, if you say some things in public that you should not say, you won't get the benefit of the doubt and might get your teeth kicked in.

It's clear to me by the nature of the some of the responses in these thread, their responses do not deserve a 'turned other cheek' but instead a reality check. The irony I see here, is how shocked they are to see that someone will not tolerate their game and comes back with a barb that affects them.

The analogy is that of a bully. A lot of people in these posts come here to bully the inexperienced OP's. I can see that most of them were surpised, stung or caught off guard by my reponse.

I'm looking at the BIGGER picture here. Not the immediate rules of who is the bigger person, but rather, putting the bullies back in their place - by lesson of experience. And that my friend, is how 'milieu therapy' works.

i.e. Steal the cheese from the mousetrap too many times, don't get angry when it snaps shut on your fingers for the first time.

Actually, very few of us were surprised, stung, or caught off guard. Your response has been pretty typical of your type. We really have seen it before........once or twice.....or more.

And on that note, I shall put this horse to rest.
