Ok... but .. If i say you are right in that definition.. how can ya look at someone elses "slave" and say YOU think she is not completely surrendered to her Master?

There is no way for You to know her behavior is not exactly what He has ordained. Even if You hear her discuss engaging in disobedient behaviors, nobody knows that isn't part of what He wishes.. (Some guys love the feeling of getting a slave "back under control")

Works a lot better for those of us doing M/s if the observers please allow the participating Master to make those judgements. Step aside please, and let the Man work.

Thus far I've only read to page 4 and I'm laughing my ass off... hopelessfool your hilarious... though I do have a lot of thoughts on what you think about slavery, but I'm going to wait until, when and if I ever make it to the end of this thread to post them.

My other thoughts on this subject are since this topic has been debated a googlian number of times I once read an article called "The 9 levels of submission" and I think that is a good basic description of every type of sub/slave their is. So unless the moderators of Collarme want to rearrange their profiling system to reflect what level of submission everyone is, or is looking for I highly doubt that there will ever be a very good answer to this problem.

Even if there was this type of leveling system you still have newbies and many people that live in a fantasy world that have no clue what the hell they are getting into. People that think "oh this would be fun to be this level" so they put that in the profile without having experienced it, and then they find someone that could give them said experience and they get scared, freak, run and hide. So you'd have to add other levels to "The 9 levels of submission" such as Fantasy, thrill seeker, not serious, Bored, One Night Stand, Kinky sex please.... la la la la we could all sit here and think up another googlian levels and names and it still all comes back tooo... *drum roll please*

TAKING THE TIME TO GET TO KNOW WHOMEVER ON A PERSONAL REAL TIME BASIS!!!!

Who here on this website can describe themselves perfectly within 1 page or less? Who actually takes the time to make a well thought out profile? Not many.... and as long as we all have hormones and are able to see hot, sexy pictures of the opposite or same sex (whatever interests you) we will always wish and desire that said person be a 2, One Night Stand, slave or whatever it is we are looking for. So we will still message said person and hope we can change them into whatever it is we are looking for some are lucky and change said person... some aren't and said person gets annoyed and blocks your ass.

Anyone that is familiar with Myspace they have an update your mood... maybe we need something like that here. Today I'm feeling this submissive... hour later "oh wait some dumb ass self proclaiming Master has just pissed me off and currently I feel like ripping somones head off... feeling dominant... or feeling the need to be spanked... whatever.

Because there are no absolutes, you get a vast array of meanings assigned to any given term- basically, it’s whatever works for that person, at that point in time.

I know that, over the years, my personal definitions for the labels people place on themselves (and more importantly- on OTHERS) has changed dramatically. The definitions are fluid, they evolve with me, change as I learn and grow. Were my earlier definitions incorrect? No. They were the best I had to work with given my information at the time. The problem arises when we try to pigeonhole others into our own biased definitions.

What does it matter what someone I am not in a power exchange relationship with labels themselves as? Just as importantly- what does how I define myself matter to anyone that is not involved in a relationship with me?

There is only one person who gets to decide whether they are a bottom, or a submissive, or a slave, and that is the bottom/submissive/slave.

Whatever criteria they use to decide is their business and no one else's business.

Yes this may be true, but the level of submission is different. Even in this all accepting lifestyle it is an accepted acknowledgment that both of these words mean different things.
