Why do you think that is the case? Perhaps is it the same theory that certain individuals partner with someone who has the same characteristics as our folks of the opposite sex? According to the book (and my own experience mirrors this), only-female children are more likely to be spoiled and allowed to be both emotionally and financially dependant on their parents (even after they are "grown.") Statistically, they are not pushed to be as successful career wise, are less likely to be taught good money skills, are often allowed to live at home for a longer time than other demographics, are closer to their parents than other children, etc etc. Also the book says that only-females, due to the lack of siblings, often are not taught how to interact with people close to their own age, and hence find themselves attracted (both romantically and socially) to those who are either much younger or much older than they are. Because of all this, they often seek a partner who can step into the role they are used to their parents filling. I can't speak for anyone but me, but I know it's true for me. At 25yrs old, I still live in a house my mom bought for me and pays the bills on, I still am VERY emotionally and financially dependant on my parents, have lacked the personal will power and ambition necessary to manage my own life, have a powerhouse career, etc etc. I like men 15+yrs older than me who are successful and financially capable. I am very very attracted to people who can step into my parents shoes so to speak in their manner of dealing with me.
