Birth order theories also tend to suggest that those of a particular birth order do better with mates of that same order (firsts do better with firsts and so on)
I am the first, I was an only until I was six and while I am very submissive to m'Lord, I can and will domme others. He is also the oldest by 6 years, so while I don't think that the birth order defines which role we take in a relationship, I do believe that birth order helps determine compatibility.
