I'm with the OP on this topic. Yes, it was tragic, and horrific. However this is not the first time our nation face tragedy. Do we as a nation still observe moments of silence for: The day Abraham Lincoln or John F. Kennedy were assassinated? The day the space shuttle blew up? The day of the Oklahoma City bombing? The day a few teenagers opened fire in Columbine, killing and injuring many of their classmates? Can you even name the dates, without looking them up, that these events happened? I could go on listing more of the horrific events we have endured as a nation, but I won't, for fear of leaving something that did effect someone else out. In life, many things happen, whether they are tragic in nature or not. I feel that we should not forget that 9/11 happened, but it's time to heal and move on and that to continue to mourn every year as a nation is not healthy. Flame me if you must, but I do not expect you to greive on dates past that have affected my life, so do not expect me to grieve on the dates that affected yours.
