I met a guy on another site.. an interesting dynamic began to form. I was confused by this and .. well.. by me.  He explained D/s to me, but  it's a very broad topic, isn't it? :-)  He suggested I come here, mainly to read the forums, for some sort of.. enlightenment? Understanding? To get information and to maybe get a little perspective.

Some of my questions have been answered, and some new questions have come up.   I take in everything, and I'm learning how to sort through the information to find what is valuable and meaningful to me.  I've chatted with some people and made some new friends, I suppose, which is unexpected but nice. 

Honestly.. I mostly lurk, but I feel I "know" all of you! I don't confuse myself quite as much anymore, so something must be going right. [:)]    Currently talking to the Guy about plans to meet up(*finally*) so we'll see where that goes..   It strikes me that "all of this" isn't so new to me, but the labelling of it and the uhhh "volume" of it is.  Before, to me, it was just "some kinky crap I liked" and on a much smaller scale..  ;-)  Looking forward to further exploration....

Mm.... really, why am i here? To waste my time? Not really, i am not *that* good at that, but it is noticeable that most, if not of all, people who participate here are far away from me and whatever i do or say here won't cause anything of my primary interest. Maybe i hope a very cruel Lady in need of a totally dependent pet will call for me and then put me in a cage like a piece of meat for my lifetime. :P Just kidding.

i guess i'm here to let off some steam, to share some thoughts and to have some fun in the end. :)

i came to find likeminded souls - i happened to be found by One - and got released by the same One - so now i am here for the boards and exchange mails. Met so many nice people - and a few not so nice - but the great thing about mails and online "threats" - i can log off and block/delete...*L*...

i peek for mails every day - and smile when i find a new one from friends - and i peek on a few boards and even comment now and then...s...

I originally came here to find a R/L partner.  However, since it does not look like there are any sincere subs in my area, I now just read the forums, browse photos, and sometimes go to the chat rooms.

To get away from the general hi/bye mentality of some chatrooms and read what other's say about anything and everything within and without the BDSM community and occasionally contribute - whod a thunk cooking *g*.........to read, learn, absorb, grow

i've been interested in this question for some time as i have often looked at the 'hit' rate to posts and it is approximately ten times the response rate.: so for every 10 responses on a thread there are about 100 others reading that thread. That's quite a hit rate and yet i wonder why those 90 don't respond by posting themselves.

originally i came here to find a Master.  time went by and i stayed to either find a Master or find a Couple.  so now, 3 years (and 2 names) later, i've recently become the girl of a Dominant that i met at work party and who had nothing to do with CM  LOL  and now, i stay for the boards.  i learn A LOT here  :)

as to "i wonder why those 90 dont' respond by posting themselves."  well, i can't answer for others but for myself?  there are 2 main reasons.

first, most of my learning and protocols and whatknots that i know i learned from the Gorean Board and from Gorean folks, both on line and off line.  i was taught that if i didn't have something useful to contribute, don't.  so, many times i will write a post but delete it because it was redundant, un-needed, snarky, whatever.

the second reason is, when it comes to the bdsm board, so many of y'all seem to know each other well, flirt/laff/tease/debate back and forth, etc., and i often feel like an outsider.  so i don't post because i'm often uncomfortable here.  but i'm working on getting over that.  in addition, often times what i will do is write someone on the other side if i like what they have written or wish to share something with a poster.

The hits on a thread will always be higher then the postings because people come back multiple times to read what others have to say.

It's not that 538 different people have come and read the thread, it;s that 215 have come and re-read what others have said and 128 have actually posted their views *S*
(please note all numbers are figurative not actual, numbers were used to make a point not show a true count of people, viewing, stalking and or posting)

thanks lots for Your compliment on my back piece.  it's about 20 years old and i'm preparing myself for getting it recolored (9 hours under the needle takes my masochism a bit far!!)   my original name on collarme was gemmy, but i ran into problems so left, then redid myself as sassysexygirl, and now i'm just using the name most folks call me anyway!  i look forward to the flirting ,,,, oh yeah, and the laffing, teasing and debating :D

I originally joined to semi-stalk a guy who I'd been talking to, met up with, "played" with (loosest/vanillaest definition of term possible) and who had then disappeared, completely.  Being fairly/very innocent, I was seeing if he was still alive, and given his ex had started stalking me whilst I was in hospital, I got the lead from her.

Then I loved the drip feed of comedy to my inbox.  And read the forums and posted occasionally.  And also felt like a bit of an outsider, tbh.

Then, hum, I guess end of June ish, I met Soft, and started posting a bit more, cos, well, I was curious what she was writing, and now, it's a good distraction when late at night and not sleeping.  And, learning, and entertainment, and, well, very isolated am I, with work and everything else (plus geography), it's nice to have people who don't think I'm a freak on tap.

And if it was meant solely as a dating service, why on earth would they have the "Friends Only" option?
