I was involved with a dom like this, but he didn't play the dom card overtly. He would do it in a more manipulating way that just frustrated the hell out of me.

There would be about 4 sentences worth of communication and it would go something like this:

Me: This is really bothering me and I don't understand why you are doing this.

Him: The reason I am doing this is because I saw the sun rise today in the east but when I saw it happening, the price of tea in china went up by two cents a pound, therefore it makes more sense to talk about this issue after you go gas up your car.

Me: But Sir, I don't understand what the price of tea in china has to do with me gassing up my car before we talk about this.

Him: Well, if you don't understand that, I don't know how else to explain it to you. It seems that this conversation isn't going very well tonight and I'm in no mood for this right now.

So in order to keep the peace, I would just let it go.

Funny, he used to complain that we argued too much, but he never figured out that it was because issues were being swept under the rug instead of being dealt with, therefore they continued to surface again and again. D'oh!

Funny you should couch this argument in terms of automobiles.

Now you know why I sent you a car video once. It dealt with this very issue.

I have no idea why you are bringing furniture into all of this, I told you I was making a pot of coffee, can't you see how important it is to send the video before before my mother finds my glasses, then calls me to talk about the price of tea in china?
