(directed to the OP and others of his mindset)

I was 44 when I took on my first submissive. She was 26. She wasn't looking for a daddy or a granddaddy...she was looking for someone that wasn't full of themselves and who cared to spend more time with his buddies talking about burping and farting and drinking and "screwin" WHILE burping and farting and drinking and hoping to screw. She wanted someone who had the patience to listen to her and guide her through some of the mistakes she had made and help her avoid others that friends her own age were making and that I myself had made when I was younger. She liked the fact that I seemed to be able to give my attention to her when we went out in public and not have my eye roving to every other young thing in the place. She liked the fact that I was able to converse about something other than the next game, the next party, or other people. Of course, one of the things that helped me get to this place was not just age but life experience and learning from a father who was smart enough to teach his sons that women were not men (big surprise but surprisingly, something that many young men don't seem to get) and that they tend to look for self-assurance, not arrogance or condescension of others (your attitude against older men and younger women's appreciation for them comes across as just that). Self-assurance comes from a fairly good understanding of what you are and most importantly, what you are not....what you can do and are willing to do and what you can't do but are willing to learn. Of course, as someone else noted, when I was in your age, I was serving with the 82nd and going to various trouble spots. That sort of took the shine off many of the (immature) pursuits of my peers. I didn't spend my college years tearing down goalposts but did not begrudge the ones who did.

My second submissive was 36 when I took up with her to my 47. My third submissive was 36 to my 49. I have submissive friends who are in their 20's 30's, 40's, 50's. They all bring something to the table and recognition and appreciation of that rather than an arrogant and judgmental attitude on my part go a long ways towards keeping them as friends.

i agree with many here... it's not an age thing. For me, confidence far outshines a Dom's age. i also agree with the wording on the profile - if You sound uneducated, i'm going to assume You are and i like to be able to carry on a conversation with my Dom as well as have a fulfilling sexual relationship. In all fairness, i haven't perved Your profile (yet) so i have no idea if You've changed it or not. If You have, great... if You haven't, You should seriously consider expanding it to come across as confident. Good luck!

I actually prefer men around my own age. I find that they are more likely to share some of my "vanilla" interests. However I'm not interested in a man who fusses about how no one wants his particular age group.

Beats me. I usually end up with men somewhat younger. Older men are ok if they have a young attitude. I don't find they are any more mature than a younger man I may have chosen. It is the man, not the age. His attitude is young, or old, he is silly or serious, he is adventurous or stable, people may associate these things with age, but it has never been my experience.

Everyone has their own preferences. I prefer older subs for the same reasons the girls prefer older Doms stability, maturity, reliable, experience etc..

The question is what do you have to offer a sub? You could also try an older sub.

You’ll probably be old one day asking why all the subs like young Doms. We always seem to view things with a kind of skew in relation to what we need or seek. Different people like different things and it’s a case of live and let live. In relation to the issue of maturity that always gets trotted out as a reason for age gap relationships and played over and over like a broken record, I’d simply say that age doesn’t always equate to maturity.

That's just me being the devil's advocate. There are exceptions to every rule. Age, does not necessarily equate to maturity. Trust me, I know plenty of 40 somethings that are just as clueless as people half their age, and a few very precocious youths.

Which again, speaks to strength of character and maturity, as opposed to a direct correlation with age. Age has the benefit of generally correlating with life experience. This, of course, is not always true as there are older people that have comparatively less life experience than people younger than they. In addition, whatever experience someone may have only leads to maturity if they actually learn from that experience. :) There are exceptions to every rule, naturally.

I will agree, however, that I tend to prefer to interact with people older than myself as well. A good part of it is that my life experience dictates that these are the people that I consider to be my peers, as I have always fraternized with people roughly ten years older than myself. As I get older, I'm finding the discrepancies in life experience with those nearer to my age is slowly closing, but I still have a hard time seeing them as peers. I've actually caught myself thinking "damn, they're young" and then stopping to realize that the person was actually older than myself.

Which, I totally agree with. The same qualities that an older person might have in being more settled in their life, and having the kinks of their character worked out through experience, also come with the side effects of having different perspectives and goals for their life. That isn't neccessarily a bad thing, but it can be an obstacle, for sure.

Myself, I want that happy and improbable medium of having the vibrance of youth, the wisdom of a few more trips around the sun, goals that aren't in direct conflict, and having enough interests generally in common to be able to relate.

There's a reason that I'm "married" to my education.

I enjoy watching young women but my property is the same age as I and nothing seems more beautful to me than her smile.

There are always exceptions but age CAN bring maturity and experience that is hard to duplicate any other way. It is in no way a guarantee but I know that there was no way to look at me at 20 and predict the man I am today, in fact, I myself would have bet against it.

this one is the age gap thingy. People always say age does not matter. But it does. I am not going into long drawn out answers of why and stuff. Hell figure it out for your self. If your stupid enough to get with someone twice your age and get dumped when you can not function anymore or get ill. cause you made a bad choice. Thats on you when people tried to warn you or help you. I always believe there is real life logic behind things. But most People just want to do the fancy thing. cause it looks good or feels good or for the moment. Such was the titanic but oh that ice berg of life will cut ya open all the time. Sometimes it pays to be smart about doing things that cause peace not chaos. when is age to much when you are dating someone your kids own age that is kinda creepy. shrugs. Maybe it is that second childhood. shrugs

Heaven help me if I wanted a Dom twice my age but yeah, I'm attracted to older men. It's a comfort / Daddy thing for me, safety, acceptance, belonging.

My Dom is older than me, but it's only because we connected on both a physical and emotional level. But technically i'd prefer a younger Dom, one that i can spend vanilla time with, etc. But my Dom is great and he's a great friend to have, a listener, an advice giver, etc. But then again my finding older guys also runs in my family, so i can't complain :D.

This sounds like a case of sour grapes. Its not about age its about the person and whether you can connect with them in a physical, emotional and psychological way. Maybe you need to stop thinking your age is the reason they are turning you down and look at what else you are/nt bringing to the table? Good luck.

Just thought of something else. In my case, it's the life experience. I prefer to have someone guide me from this place to the next, someone who has experienced this and can lead me through the rough spots, kinda like walking in somebody's footsteps through deep snow. Yeahhh. I'm looking for a snow plow.

age has very little if anything to do with it ...... life experience , chemistry between the Dom and sub, dialogue, respect, communication and how they relate naturally have everything to do with it

At 19 I had a submissive who was 35, and I have now been with submissives 20 years younger and each relationship was wonderful
