Honor and integrity have almost disappeared. In fact, all the "masters" on this site are wannabes and fakes... except for me. I am the last remaining real and true Master. You can tell from the correct capitalization.

Also... sorry you met up with a jerk.

I think she meant that "Masters" are no more special than the rest of the populace. That is, you can't expect a higher standard of behavior just because someone slapped a label on themselves, particularly if you (general you) haven't spent a lot of time getting to know that person. Jerks abound, here and elsewhere.

yes that is it exactly. And what a flippin' challenge.

I understand, also, to those who have been into the scene long before the internet, this llife was very different and the term Master was not something one bestowed upon one's self, but was a title that one was given that actually meant a man was master of himself.

Respect, Devotion, Loyalty, Sacrifice, Pride
traits no longer found it seems when it comes to some, traits few and far between

I have heard of those standards of old too. I even met a man well respected and called master and one who many went to for advise and such. He was the scariest man I ever knew and dangerous in his personal life. You are better off to take each individual as they come and decide for yourself. Honor and all those wonderful things are out there, but like Quivver said, you just have to find someone like minded and not give up discouraged. At moments it is difficult, but then someone comes along and refreshes you with their integrity. Don't let the bad one's get you down.

I have always prided myself on being honest and treating people with care and respect. It is hard to show that in a profile, who would believe it anyway, lol.

Yanno...the same things could be said of subs. Not too many of them have honor and integrity either. It just helps you appreciate the few who do.

I've not had much problem with finding people who do not have honor, integrity, etc...

maybe I use different screening / vetting procedures, though.

When girl first came into CM, made the mistake of telling others in the forum what they wanted to read, but after chatting to a few doms and dommes, masters and mistresses, girl (yes still using the third person because its comfortable for me) realizes her error. Girl should be speaking from the heart, practicing her own philosophy of what being a submissive means to her. Girl should not care about what others want, girl should care about what she wants.
Be she mistress or domme, who really cares? Girl doesn't.
It's about dedication, loyalty, devotion, trust. How can you be a girl of integrity if you are not to true to yourself first.
Girl is a domestic submissive. Girl takes care of her domme. Girl will put self in harms way to make sure domme is safe. If domme becomes ill, girl takes care of her, makes her well, does errands for her. Why does girl do this, does so out of love.
Another girl does the same for her master or dom, why because she loves her master or dom. Trust in him to reward her well when he becomes healthy again.
(Domme/mistress....Dom/Master....interchangeable, what does it matter, they are just titles anyways, submissive or slave, interchangeable, values are the same)
That's this girl's opinion, it may be not what other's believe, but it is what this girl believes.

Honor and integrity do seem harder to come by these days. Not just here, but in all areas of life. I do not think they are unrealistic goals, but rather more to be cherished when found. And with this, then comes the dilemma of giving up or accepting things different from what one may have originally been seeking, in order to have that honor and integrity. All else, i believe, will follow. Hold to your standards.

You are assuming that using the title Master automatically means the person has passed some kind of ethics test. They have not. We are a small slice of society and as such, you will find a wide variety of people here, with a wide variety of ethical standards, just like you do in society.
