A safe gesture when I'm gagged. I open and close my fists. If I'm doing just one slowly then he knows that wrist is going numb. If it's both quickly then he removes the gag so I can tell him what's wrong. But if I've hit an emotional trigger, i can't talk. Then he can tell from my body language that there's a problem. I go rigid, hunch my shoulders, try to huddle inside of my own arms, generally try to hide. It's pretty obvious.

I like simple with my subs and I always have, so the safeword in our house is safeword.  I we're using a gag, I have her hold a bell in her hand she can either ring or drop.

...  :P  Master and I use "Aardvark".
his theory is that no matter what, he's bound to lose all sexual arousal after hearing that.. :P

coleslaw

There's only one thing on earth that I will, as they say in professional eating circles, 'have a reversal' if I even see, and that's it, right there.  So yeah, if we're in the middle of something, and I hear "Coleslaw", that's an instant stopper, because I flinch and shudder in a bad way and everything just stops, period.

We don't have a safeword, but we do have a hand squeeze method. She'll squeeze my hand twice, and i'll return the squeeze twice. We use this even in normal everyday situtations just to see how the other is feeling too :).

No. Don't. Stop.

Never had to use them; I've only come close during new things (different position for suspension, etc.), cos we're not really into *air quotes* nonconsensual scenes, and he can usually tell when I've crossed over into "this is not okay" territory.

my safeword is my name...first and middle. I think he suggested it as a way not to be insulted. I mean...bellowing "Holly Ann, you somnabitch!!" isn't something i really want heard.

My bf and I use rutabaga for the same (non-erotic) reason, and you know you aren't going to accidentally say it when you are caught up in the moment. :P

i can see it now you shout your pin number and s/he goes 'so you would like to make a withdraw?'

Lol If I ever get his pin number I will be going to make the withdrawal!.

We like interrogation and it goes something like this

'we can do this the hard way or we can do this the easy way... Pin number?'

Our official, nothing-bad-can-ever-happen-because-we-have-one, safeword is "cramp."  I've also been known to use, "That's about enough of THAT."

For us, simple communication works best.
