AStudyInScarlet -> what is your safeword? (12/1/2008 9:02:12 PM)

and how did you come up with it?

mine is not a word, but a "tap out". we often use gags so it's good that we have a signal as opposed to a word. in tae kwon do, you tap out when you're grappling and you've reached the point where any more force will break something or you're on the verge of passing out in a choke hold. it is two quick taps any way you can get it out, either on the person or the floor with your hand or foot or whatever is free. since i can do that without thinking when i'm in trouble (i have a black belt so i've had plenty of practice), my pet chose it for me since i was new to this kind of thing and he wanted me to feel safe and comfortable.

We dont use a safe word we use a signal, I simply tap him.It was choosen for me by my ex and kind of stuck b/c I am not always able to vocalize but I can always tap with something weather it be my hand , feet, or head. lol

I usually just say what's wrong, but our 'official' safeword is firetruck.

We were all snuggled up on the couch one night when a couple of firetrucks drove by, I didn't think much of it, but he jumps up, dumping me on the floor and yelled "FIRETRUCK!"

Depending on the situation: either faking a feint if a word can not be used, which is easily accomplished.
Since that is not the question and you are asking about a safe word, mine is: Eden.

Gentle.  It can be mumbled when gagged, and it doesn't seem to have such an abrupt OMG! Emergency!  quality to the sound of it.

I should use that one!  Will be real effective seeing as we're two doors up the street from the fire station!

Seriously we use the green/yellow/red system, mostly because it's something I can easily remember no matter what else is happening.  Still discussing what to do when my mouth is full.  With all her past subs she always told them to snap their fingers, but I can't do it.  Will probably go with me holding a ball and dropping the ball will be the same as 'red'.

lovingpet -> RE: what is your safeword? (12/2/2008 6:39:32 AM)

The light system, but there is really no need for it.  He reads me well enough that I doubt I will ever use it.

we don't need to use ours either but it's good to have one. it drives me crazy when people don't even have one and are adamant that they absolutely don't need one. you may never use it but geeze! accidents aren't planned for.

NessunDorma -> RE: what is your safeword? (12/2/2008 5:06:30 PM)

It's strange...part of me doesn't feel like this is something to post in 'public.'

But at any rate, I usually stick to the 'red' 'yellow' system...but I almost always have my subs pick their own word. If they choose it's easier for them to remember, even in subspace.

well in most cases mine has been stoplight code but Master has said that we will stick with it but since i have hard time remembering safeword and cases to use them due to past experience and what my mind does due to past or at least use to Master said he is going to take his time so that he can learn me just in case because of that falt.

YourhandMyAss -> RE: what is your safeword? (12/2/2008 8:47:55 PM)

Our safe w*ord is red, and we didn't come up w/it it. It's a very common and easily recognized safe word in Play spaces, and so  very easy to remember.

sexisubi -> RE: what is your safeword? (12/2/2008 10:26:51 PM)

having a non-verbal one is a good idea =)

However mine is hopscotch! i dont know why i said it when we were talking about it before He wanted to try a hard scene. i have only used it once and it wasn't even for that scene lol.

girlygurl -> RE: what is your safeword? (12/2/2008 10:40:25 PM)

We've never had a safe word, although in the beginning He would always ask if I was ok when doing some heavy playing or something new. Sir knows me so well now that sometimes I think the man knows me better than I know myself.... which I LOVE!

sunshinemiss -> RE: what is your safeword? (12/3/2008 6:03:33 AM)

Hi there,
I'm not permitted a safe word, but they read me so well that they never take me to the "bad place".  The tone of my voice changes, so they know when I'm getting to that place.  It has happened three times now.  Each time they stopped or backed off.  If I need to tell them something, I tell them.

well wishes,
tgfka sunshine
