Gotta love the manipulation of facts

It's a case of wishful thinking on the part of the American posters, who would find some vindication were the UK to adopt less stringent gun laws.

Kittin, from what the people on the tape were saying it sounds to me anyway like the govt over there "dictates" to the people.
Did you watch the entire video?

interesting to say the least

It would be interesting if it wasnt 7 years old and absolute bullshit. The voice over was hilarious and I am suprised so many of you fell for it. It was no more than a propaganda march by the Countryside Alliance.

Labour were elected partly on the promise to ban hunting. Its called democracy. As for hand guns being banned, that was after 16 little kids were murded by some nut with a hand gun. There was no public outcry over the ban on hand guns, as most of us here agreed with it.

What's wrong with a group of animals tearing apart another animal? Isn't that what always happen in nature? Have you ever watched "Wild Kingdom?" That's nature.  As for gun control? All I can say is that Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my gun...and you don't see people wanting to ban cars because "they"--instead of the person driving-kill people. It's like when every now and then you read a article that has a headline that says "SUV kills three."

Polite, what if he ran them over with a car?
Or threw them out of windows?
You don't blame the inanimate object you blame the miscreant.

It's such a laughable motto anyway, isn't it? When I first saw 'Live free or die' on a number plate I thought it was some kind of joke. Imagine my joy when I realised it was serious rofl!

Id like to see you tell the parents that Popeye. The fact is the majority here are comfortable with not having guns.

I don't think many people know about Dunblane. Such school massacres may have become a fairly common occurrence in America, but not in the U.K. It's for the precise reason that the British people wanted to avoid a recurrence of that tragedy that gun control is exercised so stringently over there.

Damn.  Seems like we get 1 or 2 of these massacres a year here in the States.

And it's tragic, Ven. I just think that regardless of which side of the gun control equation one finds oneself on, it's illogical and wrong to ignore the correlation "liberal gun use = increased massacres".

It must be some weird coincidence that  the "common occurance" school shootings happen in gun free zones, and the highest murder rate is in Chicago, which happens to have banned handguns decades ago.

But what do I know, my guns have only killed paper targets.

Why are so many of you excited over a bunch of upper class toffs protesting because they want to hunt?

They certainly don't represent the entire rural community, that's for sure.  In fact there are many that consider hunts to be a nuisance.

Weird isn't it? They ban guns...and then people start killing each other with knives. Why don't we ban people who kill instead of knives and guns...just a suggestion. But, that's what you get when you turn your power over to someone else.

Insane.  Literally just a crazy sense of perspective some people have.

UK has a knife crime issue... America has a gun crime issue... which would I prefer?  Hmmm!

I can't remember the last time an angst ridden teen ran around a school in London knifing every student in sight.  And even if they did, they'd only hurt a few people, at the most kill a couple.

Whereas school shootings are just about a regular occurance in the US.

Ahh right, well sorry but i just dont see that EVER happening, for the large part we dont want guns.

I think thats possibly the first time I have seen a British person say they wanted to have a gun for 'protection' but it was all just hype they were annoyed and chucking their toys of the pram because fox hunting is such an outdated practice and most people wanted it banned

Yes, I agree with this.

The UK people have a very different mentality from Americans.  Most British people would not want more liberal gun laws.  I'm afraid too many posters jumped 'the gun' after viewing this very biased report.
