Pretty funny. So if this is the case maybe you should be arguing for hand gun rights and not hand gun bans.

Also lets be clear. You cant just come here and post how many people carry concealed weapons in states that have no laws against it. Give us unskewed statistics.

Be happy to.

If, and when, you post ANY facts, statistics, etc. to bolster your argument which, I believe, has relied entirely on what you "feel" is true.

Yes, that's why I generally avoid trying to have serious discussions with anyone from the so-called SUBBY MAFIA.

They tend to invariably believe that any man who dares disagree must have a crush on them.

Sorry to burst your bubble.

Edited to say: Lots here can attest to the fact that theu disagree with me all the time but they do so without the outright challenge of every word. Has anyone here said you couldnt disagree? No one has asked you to back up every disagreement you have made?
Dont worry, I know you like to disagree with everyone.

Maybe what you wrote made perfect sense and no one could come with a counter argument, either that or they were gunning for someone else.

Yes good idea lets get back to the topic.

Simple answer we don't want guns. The video in the OP is years old and has nothing to do with "Britain wanting guns back".

You noticed that too?

Yep funny eh?

Perhaps the Brits here should start insisting that Americans do things differently. I think you should be able to buy alcohol in supermarkets. Why don't you take a vote on it. Then you can be like us.

Um, you can buy alcohol in supermarkets, have been for years. As far as these tedious fucking gun debates, who cares. Although Susie I will say you mentioned in the last gun thread why you had never heard a valid or an actual reason for someone to have to have one, and I relayed to you a very personal story of when my home was entered by drunken men in the middle of the night thinking I was gone on a trip, when in fact only my ex had gone and  I was home alone. I was sleeping on the couch, and had a loaded *of course handgun right on the endtable. That I do believe may have saved my life. Whatever it may or may not have done, you ignored it. Rhi also posted a personal story which you did not comment on either.  So I did get the feeling that even when you are given what you asked for, you still will not listen.

I am a liberal, I despise the NRA, I think if you want a gun go get one, if you don't, don't. My god, this gets old.

My understanding, which was backed up earlier, is that you cannot buy Vodka or Gin or other spirits in supermarkets there. Or  maybe you can in the states that I have not visited.

You can and have been able to purchase all liquor, beer, wine, spirits, etc. for almost a decade. The state discontinued overseeing what where called "agency" liquor stores and every single supermarket has a full liquor department. I have traveled throughout much of the states, it is that way everywhere I have been. I am not sure what states you are referring to.

Please read posts 473 and 474. Some of your fellow countrymen would appear to disagree with you.

Yes, it's an American thing, dissenting opinions and all that, however, this was just a comment based on fact. My state, and most I have traveled to, have for many years, sold liquor in the supermarkets, convenience stores and the like. I believe Luscious addressed that as well.  Your original comment insinuated incorrectly that you could not purchase such items in the supermarkets. I was correcting that assumption.  It is just perhaps where you have traveled to.

Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Utah, and Florida, just off the top of my head.

wow. 5. Well,  that certainly is a far stretch from the earlier assumption of none, isn't it? I think I will hop in my car, with my .44 which I don't need a permit for nor a license and pick up a girlfriend, stop at the supermarket, where they sell liquor,  buy her a bottle of Bombay Sapphire, let her drink from the open container, which is legal in  this state, and go to lunch.  I can't believe I am explaining yet again to citizens of the UK the laws of buying booze in a supermarket in the US. What is the big deal? Need to know that you can procure a bottle instantly if the need occurs? Seems like an issue to me.

Oh and Utah? The mormon capital of the country? Yeahhhh....not so much for visiting that bastion of the bible belt anytime soon.

You mean disagreeing with my assertion that most people dont carry concealed weapons? You really think most Americans are packin a pistol under their clothes?

Last time I checked there was no survey i ever recieved about that.

This is pretty silly. I really don't care how many states allow spirits to be sold in supermarkets. I and some other posters here (US citizens) agree that there are some states where you can't.  The whole point originally was that someone posted here that the British should have a vote on gun ownership when we have been quite clear we don't want guns. I suggested that Americans should take a vote on selling spirits in supermarkets. Something that you (just to be clear, that means you as americans and not you personally) are obviously not interested in doing.

No matter how long this thread goes on the simple fact is the British do not want guns back.

I agree, it is silly. I personally like it when we have all the guns anyway. They don't call it the wild wild west for nothin'.
