Popeye, The doctor that I watched was Michael F. Roizen. He had at least two different programs on PBS. They were run during the fund raising weeks. About 2001-2 somewhere in there. Long story short, he eventually hooked up with the doctor who is always on Opera named Dr. Oz. But the essential elements of the program he advocates were in place in those PBS shows which were available on DVD. He has also written or co-written many books. Follow the links for more information and please do your own research. Briefly, there is an organ called the omentum which is in your lower abdomen. It should be thin, almost like lace. When you eat the wrong foods it bulks up collects fat and causes "the belly". This is bad for health as well as cosmetic reasons. As I said this program of diet and much less exercise than you are doing at this time, has worked for me and for everyone else I know who has used it and stayed with it. I am 6 foot, weigh 180. I walk 2 miles on flat ground in about 40 minutes, five times a week. Other than that I just do my chores. I have lots of energy, good circulation and excellent blood pressure. All metrics have improved since I started eating as he recommends. Basically it is just avoiding bad foods and disguised bad foods, and walking. By all means consult with your own professionals. But please also investigate this man's recommendations before you make your final choices. Best of luck with it. Dr. Roizen's Bio: A review and synopsis of one of his books edited to add: Congradulations on Quitting Smoking!!! Best thing you could have done for yourself. Outlier
