The title explains it all. Why does everyone feel that a bit of youth is such a horrible thing to have? I have been tought by an older Dom friend/Mentor, which means im not just some younge horny kid who has no clue whats going on. Should i add the fact that ive been tought by older mentors or am i just going to be critised by people for the next 3 years or so of my life?

Might be a little longer than that.  I've seen the same complaint come from a few who are in the 23-25 year age range.

Problem?  Pfft, not to me.  I like you cute young things. :)  It really depends on who you're talking with really.  There are a few under 25 year olds on here that I recently spoke with, whom kind of makes me wish I was in the market for another sub.

Now, as far as younger dom types, I think part of the problem you're encountering is that people prefer older D's in general.  Of course there are some out there that it doesn't matter to, or that would actually LIKE a younger dom.  Sure, some of them it's for reasons of maturity and experience, and some of them it's for reasons of simple attraction.

Give it time, you'll find the right person for you.

Apparantly a lot of younger men of the dominant pursuasion have a problem with this.  I think many subs want an older guy for the obvious reasons of experience and wisdom etc.  Plus I think some of them have a "Daddy/little girl" pursuit in mind, so that might narrow your field even more.  At any rate, if I were you, I'd act mature, accentuate the positives, and not make this into a big issue.  There have gotta be girls in your age range who would consider a guy your age.

I think most sub females prefer a Dom to be at least a few years older.  At least the ones that are looking for a Dom and not a boyfriend.  Maybe you could make it known in the goth or punk circles at the local high schools that you are looking for a sub.  Age of consent is pretty liberal in Maryland.  16, or as low as 14 if you are only 4 years older. which at 18 you would be...  Then you would have that older guy thing goin on.

I have to agree with you on that LP.  Not the greatest advice there, especially if in jest.  The O.P. is already having a difficult and frustrating enough time, give the poor guy a break.

When you say everyone, do you mean 100% of the people you have been in contact with regarding WiiTWD?

For me it's just a bit weird and creepy to date a boy who is the age that he can date my daughter as well...thus why youth is a problem for me.

1. Don't whine
2. Fix the spelling errors on your profile
3. Go to a TNG meeting (the next generation) as there are multiple Maryland groups set up for young people who want to interact with young people
4. Meet submissive of dreams at the meeting so you don't have to be rejected by people online not interested in young dominants

I actually find that locally, the preference is for younger Doms but, and herein lays one of the two main problems I have with youth, Australia has and has had a culture of worshipping all things young which is good but they do so the exclusion of the older folk who are often not just ignored, but shunned and squeezed out of areas which are not aged designated. This is across the whole social gamut. It also comes out really viciously when some older bloke such as myself (63) married a younger woman (my wife Lady Neets, is 34). The SAC here was the classic where we were shunned and excluded or otherwise discouraged for the reason of our age difference even though I had been a member for 20 years till I took time out. Youth itself I have a great deal of respect for and enjoy too. The second issue I have with youth is the current youth culture of demanding everything now and not being prepared to work and earn recognition as well as the "in your face" rude, aggressive, abusive and oft violent attitude where manners are a thing of the past. There is a total lack of respect of the elderly. Not all youths are like this and indeed it is a minority which fit this description but they are the ones which are more visible.

At least on this site, I would imagine that your post history may have something to do with creating that mis-perception.

But is it a mis-perception? If this is so then I dare say I am in the company of a goodly number of other posters who share my at least some of my perceptions which is based totally on personal experience seen on both a social and professional basis. I speak only for myself as I alswys do and am the first to acknowledge that I am but one person, one grain of sand on an ever changing beack with no more influence and far less authority than many others..

Sorry, I was using fast reply and my response was directed towards the OP, not your post (which I'd agree with, in general).

'mis-perception' was also meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but I realize that that often doesn't come across well in text.

There are any number of reasons...some may be valid and some may not:
1. There's a thought that at 18, this is just a passing fancy for you, a whim, a wild notion that may not last for long. I know many submissives/slaves wouldn't want to start up a relationship with someone who might be in this for the short run. I think this view comes from the fact that many of us came to "discover" this about ourselves over a period of years, and are somewhat "leery" of someone who apparently makes the decision about this quickly.
2. While there are wonderfully mature 18 year olds and some doggone goofy older folks, the fact is MOST people at least gain some life experiences with age. I thought I was mature at 18, but in hindsight I can easily see how much I had to learn, and how much I can STILL learn even now. Young people are enthusiastic to be sure, but often you can't tell them anything. Life has a way of making sure you learn, whether you want to or not. For example, why should it really matter to you if someone says you are too young for them? That just helps you get one step closer to someone for whom you are the perfect age.
3. There are many submissives/slaves looking for the "daddy" situation, and let's face it-it's hard to see someone as a daddy who is younger than yourself.
4. I know for me, I like knowing a man is somewhat "settled:" into his career, and his life. Not that I need a man to take care of me.,..but I at least want to know he can take care of himself.
One thing you have is the luxury of time to find that someone who is right for you. Maybe we "oldies" are just jealous!

All of this because this guy is not as charming as moi....pffft!

In reality, the age thing comes up WAY more online than it does in "RT" because people can see the magic number there well before they get to know you; whereas, in reality, you can knock their socks off with Bill Cosby jokes and Beatles lyrics hours before someone says "wait...how old are you, anyways?"
