I have no idea where to buy them but, I do see some very beautiful and sexy larger women everyday!... and love to look at them, and the tall ones, short ones, skinny ones and medium built ones, older ones, younger ones and....and....and....you're all beautiful in you own way!....keeping dressing well no matter your size, carry yourself with pride and know that you are beautiful and sexy no matter the shape!...if anyone wants confirmation just let me know!!!!!!

That's well said.  No hate for the thin girls or the fat girls - I love ALL women myself.

I don't care. I am not a plus sized woman (even though I am far from skinny) but I still found it rude and offensive.

I'm there with ya, LaT.....I usually just blow comments like those off, but for some reason, this one struck a cord.......just guess it's easier to be mean sometimes.

What offended me was the "I can't believe I said that" part......puhleeeeeeze!  And I'm not that easily offended!

Ah the age old argument..I was wondering when this was going to be brought up. I don't know of anyone who follows a strict routine of eating healthy and excersizing who hasn't lost weight.
MoGa

*sigh* THIS (see above  part).......is.....me........ Currently, i'm so frustrated and feel so hopeless about this issue. i don't eat a bunch of crap and don't even eat a lot and i can not freaking lose weight. My doctor even put me on some medication to speed up my metabolism.  And yet...here i remain.......

Back to the original question the OP wrote...YHMA..i don't...i'm not being sarcastic or anything.... i seriously struggle with believing i deserve clothes because of how fat i am...

Kali

i feel exactly the same way... i seriously haven't bought any clothes for myself in years....my mom gives me clothes here and there, and if it weren't for that, i guess i would have to go to walmart and take my chances. ....i did this to myself... Had i put the fork down, and made better choices i wouldn't be in the shape i am. So i deserve what i have gotten. i have to tell you though...its a VERY heavy price, to NEVER feel beautiful, or sexy, or even pretty, Especially when you can remember having that, BEING that...yeah, its a very high price... If i could...i would tell EVERYONE i meet to take care of their bodies!!! TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY!!

I went from a size 0 in high school to an average of a size 20 now.  A few surguries messed up my stomach muscles and one did in my back and makes it hard to be as active as I was at a younger age.  Sometimes I can find cute things at Wal-Mart, Deb Plus or Torrid but I'm leary of getting clothes on line.  Luckily, I have a few friends of similar size and we pass things pack and forth when we get tired of something or when the scale tips a bit further one way or another than normal.

I empathize with women looking for attractive clothes. My adult daughter is a plus size woman. She had the misfortune of inheriting her paternal grandmothers genetics which made her somewhat fuller figured then had to take some anti-depressants that sent her weight shooting up another 100+ pounds in less than a year.

She is a young, beautiful woman with a bubbly personality. Shopping at most plus size shops was completely depressing for her. We would scan the net, looking for something that wasn't totally matronly and yuck.

I have a couple of friends in Germany who have the same problem and it's actually a lot worse there as Plus Size there starts with a UK 16, which would be a US 12 or 14, very few shops carry it and the ones who do are overpriced, the designs are horrible (the designers must be sadist, possibly "Those women have weight issues, let's make them more unhappy by giving them garlish clothes that make even the size 0 models on which we show them look horrendous..."), quite a few of them order from Evans (a chain store in the UK that ships worldwide), I don't know how the prices relate to the prices in the US, but the quality seems to be really good, a lot of cotton, and I have to admit that I am often quite jealous because they have such cool fashion and trendy clothes, but they don't do smaller sizes...

I never buy anything I can't try on first. First hand experince with things that SHOULD be my size and is not has taught me that. Plus I also need to try it on to see how it looks on me, I have found stuff that looks stunning on the hanger and  I put it on and I was like UGGG! NO tak it off tak it off!

I had a gorgious size 22 dress, and I had it for years and never wore it other than trying it on once at the store cause it was to small for me, and I had a bunch of other really cute stuff that no longer fit me and I snail mailed it to a friend in michigan. One of them was a really cute hand made dress in this really pretty green fabric with black horse shapes running on it. She adored it all and was very apreciative of it, and since her budget was really tight, the new clothing really helped her out with having something cute to wear while staying on a budget.

I did check out the Holy Clothing site...the stuff is gorgeous, and I've already found a couple of things that I'm going to get......at least they give the measurements of the garment, plus what size body it will actually fit!

My super plus size friends cruise the catalogs...  I made a knitted cape for one gal, so she can have a WARM winter garment.   It's possible to find nice things, but the selection is small.  WHAT are those Lane Bryant folks thinking sometimes?

Sometimes, LadyH, I don't think they are thinking at all!!!!!  I have yet to see a catalogue for plus sizes that the models are truly plus sized!!!!!!  Being a 6" size two isn't plus sized...being a 5' size 20 is!  Some of them are getting better, but the websites aren't!
