Mark, I just put myself up for sale...just for you!!  www.buyafatgirl.com  (And I'm even cutting you a discount price 'cause you're always so nice on the boards.)

Oh, and just for everyone's information...it's a bogus web site.  Unfortunately, I live in a state where you can barely sell "adult novelties," much less sell yourself to a good-looking guy named Mark... <sigh>

WHEN I was 310 I made a lot my own cool stuff from squares yep,,

I took about 6 m of cloth flipped it over..sewed up the side..left arm holes and made a head hole...and I can't sew..
I got lots of comments..becuz I picked nice fabric..sometimes I cut the bottom on a slant or made the square with a and then attacehd 2 straps that were palain or tied...this thne dopped over the shoulders;;for summer
I also took fleece blanket throws & interesting throws with ethnic patterns and did the same but an open front so it was a jacket

And here I thought I was the only one who did that
Here is the best pattern for wrap pants that I've ever seen:
http://oakdancer.com/parenting/paganpants.htm
They have ONE seam, easy peasy and SO comfy! You may have to modify the "pattern" just a bit to get the right fit, but you can always cut the seam deeper if need be.
Seriously, YHMA; if you don't know how to sew, consider learning. If you can learn to sew a straight line and a curve, there's lots of stuff like the above that you can make on the cheap!

I did check out the Holy Clothing site...the stuff is gorgeous, and I've already found a couple of things that I'm going to get......at least they give the measurements of the garment, plus what size body it will actually fit!

Yes I agree, the measurements are really nice to see!
Dangit to whomever originally posted that site.. I just ordered a dress lol.
Lovely stuff.

I make a studied effort not to visit the site too often, Janice is constantly adding new designs and colours.
I recently sent her a message on Facebook asking about sleeveless tops, and she had a poll amongst
fellow FB users, the design is in the making.  Grand.... more money to spend!

That's great.....I'm not a fan of sleeves much, being as I'm living in Arizona.......I did find a short sleeved shirt on the site, but {sigh} as usual, in every size but MINE!

Being as you've bought stuff there, do the fashions run large or small compared to other plus size samples?  I'm really in a quandry about the fit....the one set of measurements indicating the clothing measurements seem like they should fit fine, but then you have the second set.....I just don't want to buy a bunch of stuff and have to send it back.  HELP??!!

I just ordered from Holy Clothing too. Some really cool stuff there, and an offer for free shipping, even the international, for orders over 99$. Considering shipping costs to Germany, ordering a piece more to get free shipping was well worth it. So there are a dress, a top and a skirt each on their way to me, plus the top in a second colour to take it over the 99$. This selection should also help me asses their sizing for future orders. For now, I ordered on the larger side, 'cause loosely fitting is better than not fitting.

And yes, in Germany, everything over a 12 is regarded as plus size, and you are looked at like something truly disgusting if you go into a "normal" clothing shop.

And now I go and check out Evans.

From the US they will slap you with import tax, be aware of that...

And for Germany, I recall after having surgery, a bunch of issues with my thyroid, so for a a year or so I struggled with my weight, it wasn't too bad I thought, but I went up from a German size 34/36 (would be a US 2 roughly) to a size 40 (a US 6) and tired boutiques, being told that "We don't do large sizes" was quite a blow. Having been shopping with friends who need larger sizes was quite an eye opener!

I know, but considering the actual Dollar to Euro rate, it still is a good deal.

Yes, shopping is no fun around here for the bigger gals. Rather order it online, and try at my leisure.

One thing I can say about the plus sized women on this thread is they have the courage to post pictures. You, on the other hand, have not. I wonder why? Until you can match their fortitude, I suggest you can the flames.

I know how to sew, been sewing since I was 10 and embroidering and doing cross stitch since I was 8. I used to sew my own clothes, they sure were unique nobody else had anything like it I had a boat neck blouse some coolots, a nightie, a sewing bag to hold all my stuff, a sun bonnet sue dress I was making when I quit. but I never  home sewn clothing never looks as nice as store bought in my opinion lol.  I really have no desire to sew my own things any more lol. Ok, well that's a lie. I have some desire to, but I don't have the money to spend on patterns material and sewing lessons. And nolessons are not 100 percent important to sewing, but I do better with an instructor sitting with me every step of the wayhehe.

If thing ever get to a stable point financially I did entertain the thought of sewing ageplay looking summer dresses and stuff for the girls out there who would love a cutesi summer dress, but didn't want all the sickly sweet ruffles and lace and bow's that pass for ageplay dresses now, but are more for those who want to dress like a Sissy. Plus those that are to large to get a dress with any convenience.

There's a place right now sewmanycolors.com They make up to a size 5 x,  and they have some GORGEOUS dresses that look so childish and cute but are for  adults, but it's 90 dollars, and I never did hear back from them on customizing the top part so I can actually wear it with a bra and not look hideous.

For myself everything I've bought has fit well, loosely even compared to buying the same size in other plus stores.  I did find the skirt I bought (in 5x) would have fit me and another me in it, had to snug up the tie! Hehe.  Kept stepping on the hem and having it threaten to leave.  They use SO much material in the flowing design on their clothing, it's lovely.  I did find the one skirt I bought with velvet panels was very heavy and also very hot, but most of their stuff breathes really well.  I'm waiting impatiently for the sleeveless tops, that's mostly all I wear year round.    Please feel free to send me a mail if you want to know anythin else.

I am dragging up this thread to thank all of you wonderful folks who recommended Holy Clothing, and Lady Constanze who told me of Evans.
Both orders arrived today, and the clothes are gorgeous.

One thing so, the sizing of Holy Clothing runs on the generous side, so of you are on the fence, you might want to go with the smaller size. On the other hand, most of their stuff looks good overlarge too.

yeah I know or leperd print, or zebra print, if I wanted to look like a large fat zebra I would skin a zebra and wear it.

Now some  animal prints are cute, Hell I had panties with lepard spots and a zebra pair a couple years ago,  but I have noticed this tend in old lady clothing, in the 50 plus department of some places, just very ugly very gaudy stuff.

Yes..and FBP doesn't have the cute selection as the others I mentioned.

One of the great mysteries in life...other than the abduction of a single sock taken from your dryer after putting both in..

is this..

Why is it that designers feel that large women WANT or NEED to wear huge polka dots or stripes? If I wanted to look like a clown, I would go and kill one and steal his clothes! And don't get me started on the wild ass colors that designers use for us larger women!

MoGa

Oh I so much agree!! I do not shop for clothes, as I hate it anyways, but when I am made to  to go I hate what they offer. I will never ever wear anything with stripes or dots or things that look like crap that I won't even buy for my bed. And that's all they offer anymore for us big girls.

Im adding a big huge YES for Holyclothing, I have several skirts, tops and dresses from them and I love to wear them.I had a couple of velvet tops, and unfortunately screwed them up by putting them in the regular wash. Never do it, it had ribbon corset type closings and its almost impossible to get back to  what it was new. Bloody shame but my own fault.
They have the lavender colour now tooo which has me drooling
