Sarah Palin Attends Religious Sword Ceremony on Tax Payer’s Buck

Last year Sarah Palin interrupted her schedule of state business and spent Alaska state taxpayer money to fly down from Juneau to the Mat-Su Valley where she attended two religious events dominated by the Wasilla Assembly of God, which is demonstrably Palin's key Alaska church.

In the lead-up to the Obama Presidential election, a breakdown of mainstream media failed to inform the voting public about the militant nature of the Christian religious observance that Sarah Palin was demonstrably heavily linked to. Considering that this is by far the weirdest socio-theological connection a high office candidate has ever had, the question lingers: why did mainstream media fail to inform voters about this candidate. Considering her plans to run again in the next Presidential election, why is mainstream media continuing to neglect exposure of this material?

Any candidate or political figure that is connected to a religious sect that calls for its devotees to use religion, family, education, arts and entertainment, media, government, and business as their battle ground to establish dominion over the nation and the world is alarming and needs to be exposed by the media.

I guess it’s more important for the Republican Party to have a chance to win the election so the oligarchy can maintain control with their puppet Republican dumbass religious whack job candidates for president like George Bush and Sarah Palin. I mean who cares about World War III and millions of people dying? Obviously they manipulate the news too and the corporations run everything.

Why do American people vote for these kooks?

In Kent County they vote for republicans because their parents voted for  republicans and their parents parents voted for republicans. However,  I think we can take great solace at what the republicans did to the stimulus package and health care.  People up here want a health care package along the lines of Obama's proposal; they want the government option because most have been screwed by the profit desires of private insurers.  Yes, they are afraid of the financial ramifications but have realized that the republicans yelling "the sky is falling"  is probably a lie.  They realize and resent that the health care industry is spending $1.4 million a day to fight Obama. We just have to continually remind them.  It does work.  They do listen.

My supervisor is about 70 years old and a lifelong republican.  I have been working on him for about three years  He has changed.  This morning he came in raging about the gas company wanting a rate increase because demand has dropped to the point that it cannot meet profit expectations at the current rate per unit. When demand was high it demanded a rate increase based on supply and demand saying that the people were at fault for excessive usage.  When the people caused usage to plummet, it claimed that it needed a rate increase to meet profit expectations.  So, it wanted a rate increases when demand was going up and it wants a rate increase now that demand is going down.  The supervisor said "why the fuck did I bother to insulate my entire house.  The damned republicans and their profit motives.  Sign me up; get me a gun; I have had it."

The analogy I use is to picture a mammoth cattle herd. (the citizens)  The foremen and trail hands are republicans with their profit motives.  Rather than allowing the members of the herd a decent life before slaughter, the herders are interested in even more profits for themselves. Therefore they deprive the herd of much food, medical care or happiness.  What will ultimately happen.  Either the herd will be destroyed by the greed of the herders or the herd will turn and stampede them to death.  I have heard many people think about the analogy and walk away saying "I am no fucking cow.  They are living off me.  Fuck them."

(My father came back from the islands with four samurai swords taken from Japanese he killed.  If I gave Palin a samurai sword do you think she would pose nude for my cartoon book relating to "The Palin." The profit motive is strong in that beastie and she would be getting a sword for religious purposes.)

I do wish Palin luck in resurrecting her political career.  Palin is the secret weapon of the left.  A cruise missile with no guidance system

How frightening that a whack job like this with little appreciation for history, geography, science and that includes political science unfortunately, because being elected governor of the state of Alaska
population 1 million people doesn’t mean much.

But getting back to the point, it is truly frightening that an incompetent and unqualified person like Palin, brainwashed with religion,
was almost a heartbeat away from the presidency-especially with that bad tempered hot headed old man who could have died at any time running for president.

George Carlin - Religion is bullshit.

The difference would appear to be the position the kook holds within the party. On the one hand Palin is a Rep.star.....and ,at least in the case of your example,Mckinney is marginalized....as she should be.

I think she should start attending one of those crazy snake handling churches. Seems like the perfect place for her.

That's one interpretation of the story.

My interpretation of the general sense of the thread's commenters is that to actually hold religious beliefs is a disqualifications for public office.

Unless, of course, you are a Democrat. Then it's "OK" to attend a church in order to fool the gullible masses, so long as in private - or among the intelligentsia - you make fun of "religious nuts" and such, who "cling" to their religion.

Well Firm where are we setting this bar...an attendee of regular Christian services on Sunday....does not necessarily have to deny the scientific evidence of evolution.I am a Catholic....but there are many points of dogma I simply can not wrap my head around.
I guess, minus the snarkiness and boiled down to its base....what I was trying to say is if you are going to run for office....and your belief system includes fantasies akin to Adam and Eve in the garden...or Jonah and the whale......and you aren't intelligent enough to keep these illogical beliefs to yourself......I won't be voting for you.
Firm,I hope you noticed in both posts I referred only to my vote...I do believe I'm on "firm" ground here.

Mike,

I'm not trying to be difficult, but pointing out the logical conclusion of your position.

You are saying that you - personally - don't have a problem with a politician who has a religion - as long as they really don't believe in all the precepts of that religion.

What do you call someone who attends a church, or claims to be a "believer" of a religion, yet who does not really believe in the beliefs of the church that they attend, or claim membership in?

You are saying that you'd vote for a "religious pretender" for public office, but not for someone who earnestly believes in their religion. Any religion, since you can't name a single religion that holds stricitly to scientifically provable beliefs.

Therefore, you find religious belief to be a disqualification for public office.

Firm

Every few days, the left wing hate-mongers here start yet another ridiculous thread, bashing Sarah Palin, and trying, in vain, to convince people to hate her irrationally, the way they do. Don't you folks have actual lives to lead or something? Aren't there some liberal Democrats for you to focus on for a change - Chuck Shumer, John Murtha and William "cold cash" Jefferson are three that come to mind as people with far more power to do real damage to America than a recently retired governor. The corruption surrounding those three Democrats alone is breathtaking, and that's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. As for stupid people actually holding office, Al Franken, Cynthia McKinney, and Barbara Boxer are so dull that if brains were dynamite, they couldn't blow their collective noses between the three of them. How about a little focus on Nancy Pelosi, a woman thoroughly unqualified for the position of House Speaker, and definitely NOT the sharpest knife in the drawer. She recently made a huge fuss about so called "torture" policies, when it turns out she has known all about them for years and never said a word when it might have made a difference.

And I'll bet not a single one of you had anything to say when the teleprompter in chief attended one of the most racist, hate-filled churches in America, not once, but for TWENTY YEARS.

Hypocrisy, thy name is liberalism.

I can assure you with absolute certainty that not a single Republican conservative will ever come around to your way of thinking, no matter how many 'bash Sarah' threads you start. Why? Because we have better things to do than hate someone, and be consumed every day with that much bitterness and venom, and we have better things to do than fixate on one person and try to destroy her at any cost.

Therefore, why do you do what you do? It's really a very unhealthy obsession, which serves no purpose other than giving you a chance to vent your irrational opinions, in the vain hope that someone who matters will actually agree with you.

Palin has the right to attend any church she pleases, and it's really none of your business. But beyond that, who cares if they had a sword demonstration? At least the Pastor wasn't yelling "G-- Damn America" and other profanities for 20 years, while a wanna be president sat in the pews and had no problem with the goings on there.

Okay.  I read the article and I don't see the big deal.  The author refers to "Christian supremacists", and I sure as hell don't like the term but have no idea what it means and it is not defined.

The Samurai sword ceremony is weird, fusing Christianity with Japanese customs, but it does not seem to be done in any way that is at odds with Christianity.

The article seems to imply that there was something wrong in the Governor participating.  The author quotes Palin as saying "It was so cool to grow up in this church!"  And that they screened The Patriot.  If that's worthy of inclusion in the article, the author doesn't have much to say.

I suspect that the author does not feel comfortable with Christianity.  Note that Obama, both Bush presidents, Carter, Clinton, and Reagan were open about their Christianity.  So it's not something out of the usual.

Although Sarah Palin has already exposed herself (and her own family) to the media to levels that are, frankly, beyond the pale.

As for education and culture, they belong to the left wing media libewal elite - Sarah has not interest in them: they border on the satanic.

Let her join a dojo and may she learn the place of the way: that's the best that could happen to this woman.

But I know that she'll get a huge book advance and a slot on Fox news after Glen Beck as a chat show host  . Ann Coulter and Pat Buchanan will probably become her favourite guests: now, that's REAL culture for ya  .

Yes, the media's treatment of her and her family are indeed "beyond the pale". On this we agree.

Not true.

The educational system is mostly in the hands of liberals. The media is mainly made up of "lebewal elites" in Hollywood and NYC, but the culture of American is still mainly conservative (or at least center-right) despite years of propaganda and indoctrination.
