ORIGINAL: EmeraldsPheonix Dusky i remembered what i am thinking his breed is finally. hes a calico of sorts. other things in life is that i got mystics critter care voucher so she will be going at 8:30 monday morning to dr joe to get fixed. I hope she doesnt gain exorbent amounts of weight after this. i like having her be slim. This morning when i was half awake lying on my back either mystic or midnight were curled up on the Um's location and sleeping. They probably purred most of the night hince why the UM didnt keep me up kicking. I have to wait till after monday to get midnights voucher in the mail because critter care goofed and didnt get his in the mail at the same time so thats going to be fun. all thats left is when Dr joe gets mystic is finding out what shots need updated so that i can get them budgeted in for dr joe to do. Other than that i think all is well and im going to wrap up here since ive already been at the library an hr and need to go home and relax and maybe ill try to anticipate some school work. :D Em, calico is a color pattern, not a breed. Have you a clue what breed? Calico's are usually female, but the occasional male is seen. They will have two X chromsomes and one Y chromosome (XXY), and as a result, are likely to be sterile, and unable to breed. Coat color is also determined by the different number of chromsomes. What are Mystic's colors? Weight gain is a common (and frustrating) occurence after neutering/spaying, as major hormone producing organs are surgically removed, causing a sudden reduction in the hormones that play a part in how the body stores fat mass. Some animals also become more docile, or stray less, so less fat is burned, ergo weight gain. The best way to counter this is to increase stimulation, play and exersize, combined with reducing the overall amount the animal is fed by as much as 1/3. Also, limit the amount of treats given, as these tend to be full of calories. ok dusky you are definitly right i dont know anything about breeds of cat i just know coloration patterns LOL. Mystic is a light grey with faint darker gray stripes on her tail this is why i thought she was a tabby. Midnight is solid black other than a few white whisps of hair on his throat and a white patch on his belly and this is why i thought him to be more of a calico. the good thing is i dont treat them very often so thats a plus and well i make a main food bowl for all 3 of our pets and they eat as they want it so hopefully no major weight gain due to this. Got any good pics of them, Em? I want to see Mystic's colors. Yea dusky i have pics of them but unfortunatly you can't see mystics differences in color very well.
