Part of my rehab is to walk around the house without the walker with the goal of increasing my steps each day and getting off the walker entirely. I am up to 660 steps. Every time I pass Angel by, she looks at me like I am out of my mind. She can't figure out why I just keep walking around the house with no particular destination.

LOL My Mom went through that with her cats too - AFTER they both got done freaking out about the walker!

Yeah, Angel didn't know quite what to make of the walker the first time she saw it. She first eyed it suspiciously and would clear the room hastily anytime I entered with the walker in tow. Then she started "marking" the walker by rubbing her whiskers against the thing. Now she pretty much just ignores it.

Henry The Scamp is finally inside & settled on my previous desk chair which he & Queen Sophie took over immediately so that I couldn't sell it like I'd planned. I really had planned for him to be an inside cat, but then Spring came & he just couldn't be held back!! He never goes far, but he's losing weight from all the exercise & not eating while he's outside!!

Queen Sophie is sound asleep on her bed covered in the kitteh afghan in the recliner.

They are such wonderful babies & I am totally bonded to both of them. The Scamp figured out how to open the cupboards in the kitchen by watching me, then curling his paw around the handle like I did with my hand. I never could bring myself to get too upset at him, so he's allowed to go into any cupboard he can open. He also turned the cheap shower curtain that came with the place into shreds....errr, I mean, work of art with his claws. The best part he did when he was in the tub one day & I bent over & pushed my head into the curtain!!! I was finally able to toss it & hang a new one since he's lost interest in that type of art. I'm also going to get new curtains for the living room, since he seems to be over climbing the blanket hung there & dangling from the top. Sophie is the quiet one.

I realized the other day that I now have The Lady & The Scamp...

Night night y'all

Mine went yesterday for a walk with us on a leash...that's cause the forest is just one street above us and both are quite scardy cats so we just try to figure out, if they would enjoy it to be up there at times, with us...

Now...Curry as a real dominant cat (he is only scared from other male cats not that much from humans) was having none of it....once we reached the forest (F was carrying him until then) he was out of the leash stuff around his front half of the body immediately....he came back twice, pushing himself against my foot, but was having none of our idea, to wear it again...BUT interestingly....he stayed with us there....he observed every now and again where we are and run past us like a lightning....up some trees....he truly enjoyed it

Now...Pepper on the other hand needs more time for that idea (she is way less often out there than Curry is) she stayed in her leash stuff and changed between running ahead and refusing to walk, stubborn like a donkey...

Anyhow, seeing how much Curry enjoyed it there, we will keep working with them to get used to the area....though with Pepper I would be too scared that she might get lost without the leash....for her it will take some time, if we ever get there....but it was a damn joy to see Curry in that situation

I recently remodeled and swapped out carpets for hardwood floors. Poor Angel isn't entirely used to the change. She tries to launch forward and start running and her feet keep spinning. She eventually gets her bearing, but it's nothing like carpet.

lol, I remember when my dad waxed our wooden floors fresh, back in approx. 1999.....my cat Oliver almost crashed against the balcony door as he did not expect the floor to be that slippery, all of a sudden

Curry and Pepper are resting today....Curry had an "exciting" day yesterday, cause not only did we walk up our local hill, which is about 1.5km....(aimed to spend some time there with him, but had to change that aim once I realised it is a nature reservat there....so as he doesn't take a leash, we turned around back downhill...)

So far so good, but then unfortunately, at first a car came downstairs (arent supposed to, but it seems it was one of the folks who does some work up there) so he run like wild downhill....now....at some point he figured out he can just run up a path until the car passed him....so he did that at some point....and we were about to continue our walk down again...well...where then a bad man came with a massive rucksack....and that scared the shit out of him....and as - unfortunately - that guy walked down the path in which Curry did hide from him, he went up that hill like a mad cat....so I followed him and found him about 700m later but he was having none of it, coming back to me immediately....first another bad man with a massive rucksack passed us, then he finally accepted to come to me....though demanded that I carry him those 700m back to the mainroad....

There then, thankfully, no signs of distress were about to see....only a few minutes later, another bad man with a massive rucksack came, but this time I grabbed him on time (he had realised him already) and hold him, no matter how bad he scratched my arm....once he had passed us, he was calm again and happy to walk back down with me...

So after such a day of new and scary things, I decided to let him have some rest today....and gosh, he was fucking hungry, once we got home

Kamir finally figured out a way to climb up to the kitchen sink (he's not big enough to just leap up there...yet). I don't want him licking dirty dishes, so I turned the water on his head while he was sitting in the sink snacking on bits of leftover sweet potatoes.

He hasn't climbed up there since.

And yes, I realize this will make it a little more difficult should I ever want to give him a bath.

Last night I had a dream that someone was kicking my door in. Once I finally woke up, I realized that the sounds were coming from the cabinets outside the master bathroom. I have the kind of cabinets that swing shut on their own, and not quietly. My darlin' kitteh was opening the cabinets with her paw, then releasing them so they would swing shut loudly. This is the first time in the four years she has lived here that she has done this. Hopefully she will knock it off, or I will have to get childproof locks for the cabinets.

Cashie does that. Baby latches are a Godsend. I use both the type that loop over the doorknobs, and the latchy thing that has to be mounted inside the door. They both work well.

Last night, I woke up for work, and came into the kitchen to discover that SOMEONE *looks suspiciously at Cubby and Squirt* had knocked over the garbage can. Nothing had been dragged out of it, thankfully, but still.

I love my babies, yes I do.

Good to know the baby latches work well. The lil' darlin' hasn't done it again, though. I wonder if she was just acting up because I went back to work full-time and am not here to keep her company all day.

Two nights ago F went to sleep early as he wasn't feeling well with his cold...

Due to that, Curry has been irritated, as F just was not getting up to go outside for the most evenings happening man-walk between F and Curry....so Curry jumped onto the bedside table from F and really loudly miaowed, straight into his face....

At the - sort of - same time Pepper also was irritated why F was lieing in bed now....so she decided to lie on my mattress and tried for about 45 minutes every few minutes in a rather gentle manner, to play with F's duvet, as if she is saying "whats wrong? Come on...lets play together..." then she realised, its not gonna happen and gave up...but she gave it quite a long time a go to look after him...

For me it was damn cute to observe this that way....it's really heartwarming that a) they realised it and tried to "activate" him....and b) accepted him that fully by now...that they take as much care about him as they do about me when I am feeling under the weather....

I got a new magazine rack, so of course Angel is busy sniffing every square inch of it, rubbing her whiskers against it (marking it as "hers" - like she reads magazines) and getting in and out of it.

Today is her 8th birthday (not really - she was a stray and the vet "guess-timated" her birthday). I ordered her a new curved scratcher. She had one, but it got thrown out in the remodeling frenzy. She has an upright scratching post but doesn't like it as much.

We bought Curry 2 days ago raw fish, which has been reduced by 50% as it would have run out of date today...

I never gave him raw fish in the past so was not sure how he will like it but gosh, did he went mad about it....

Today he got another tablet which will keep his fleas on a killed level, as yesterday he started scratching himself again...as he was not really impressed having to swallow it (as it is really large I have to give it to him in 2 parts...cause the idea from the producer, the cat should just chew it, is of course - not working)...anyhow, after he got over swallowing that, he enjoyed the rest of this fish

Now it will keep the fleas at bay again for the next 4 weeks
