OK, since I am broke and got denied for CareCredit (*gaspshockhorrors sans surprise), I have to take him back after I get paid and pay at least half of the estimated cost. Fair enough.

The vet DID send me home with some clavamox and an anti-inflammatory to get us through until then.

And Feliway is AWESOME.

I have a tuxedo cat that came from the neighbors who have a bunch of pitbulls. Poor thing was living behind the washer and dryer. I knew when I got her she was pregnant but I just couldn't leave her to live like that.

Now she has her 3 kitties 2 days ago. She is such a good mother and seems very content and happy.

Hope your beloved Squirt gets better soon. I'm so sorry about CareCredit, that stinks. I have coverage but my vet doesn't belong to this plan, so I keep it in reserve in case of an emergency animal hospital situation. I don't want to change vets cuz both my kitties are used to him and not freaked out about going there.

Yes, we want to see baby kitten pics, annie! I used to have a tuxedo cat I absolutely adored. He might possibly have been the sweetest cat I've ever owned.

I am sorry to hear that GT....reminds me when I had to go to the vet with Cesar back in 2001....he came in and barely couldnt move and once we got to the vet after the weekend he explained to me that his body was just a mass of pain...hence why he did not move to the toilet anymore (I brought the litter box to my bed every few hours and sat him into it)...it took him a few treatments until he recovered from that....

Visually you could not see anything really, but whoever has had him in his claws caused a major sort of infection on his body...sadly he died too young (aged 2) on cat HIV...

I hope your cat will get better soon...

Over here Curry is upset...cause his sleeping bed is not on the usual shelf anymore....but instead on Franks bedside table...and he does not approve of moving his stuff around, even less on packing all stuff up and in boxes, cause he knows that will mean, that we will be moving again...

And needless to say, he does not know, that it will be to his benefit big time this time

Now Pepper on the other side is her usual chilled self...she couldnt care less about, if anything got moved or not....she is happy in her own lil Pepper-World, as long as there are some treats now and again

Squirt's leg is SO much better! The wound is almost closed, and he's back to normal (i.e. chasing the others and being a pest to them).

Have I mentioned that Capstar and feliway are AMAZING??

Indeed, they are anazing GT

Curry and Pepper moved in our new house now and love love love love it

Curry loves it soooo much that he refused to come back inside when it was time to pick up F from work and as a result he stayed outdoors in the rain for 3 hours Though, then at least he was happy to come in immediately after our return

Due to our past moves I know that Curry doesn't need a few days inside at first and he drove our neighbour dog crazy yesterday (some sort of terrier...he went so crazy that he tried to bite through the fence material...

I am guessing he will drive even more nuts once all my cats are here

Angel narrowly escaped getting a little sister kitten this week. A woman at work had a cute black and white female kitten to give away from a litter her cat recently had. I was going to hold off getting another cat until the fall or later, but I fell in love with this kitten's picture. We made arrangements for her to bring the cat in the next day so I could meet her. If all went well, we decided on a time Sunday for me to pick her up. When she went home that evening, though, she discovered that her husband had found someone at his place of work who came out that day and adopted the kitten. So, no little sister for Angel for a while.

This is Pirate. She's a love, needing a home (she keeps trying to come inside). She runs out to greet me when I get home from work, demands attention, and has a HUGE purr. I think she's about 6 mos. old, and if her Mom is any indication, she'll always be smallish. I want to keep her, but I am at max cap. as it is... *sigh*

She is a cutie GT...any progress in finding her a new home???

Curry and Pepper are bringing us in a mouse each at our new home at most nights...at times even two...

I had no idea what variety of mice can live around you (not to mention the lizzards and toads...though they didn't end up in our house yet, though the one or other killed lizzard could be found in our garden)

This night we rescued two mice so far (by 3.30am) the first from Pepper, the second from Curry...

Last time we rescued a living one from Curry he brought us a dead one some hours later

If it would be my decision the terrace door would be shut at night time...as thats how I used to do it in the UK...the cats inside at that time stay inside...the others outside...but F still prefers it open for the cats and just hopes it will become less soon...

Well...seeing how many breeds if mice are living here, I somehow doubt, that the visiting mice will be less in any time soon

Summer brought in a lil frog today...Frank found both of them in our bathroom a moment ago...our Wildlife really doesn't stop to amaze me here

Whilst we recently drove 2 large toads to a nearby river (one today and one 2 days ago) as we don't want to find them dried out deadly here as it happened with 2 toads here when we moved in, we left the frog out in the garden...as this mini creature can do well here

Alley is laying on her back, paws outstretched and her head kind of off to one side, and she is sleeping. I would take a picture of her, but the little fucker has a sixth sense about that and will invariably wake up and shift position just as I snap the picture so I get kind of half of her...

Oh yeah Gauge, I do feel the same at times about my cats

Mine are busy getting rid of the mice here...

This month alone Curry did catch 12 mice (the 12th he just brought in a minute ago), Pepper brought in 5 and Urmel yesterday his 1st...

4 from Pepper we could rescue as I think she is not really fit in doing the death bite to the mice...cause the only one she brought dead so far, was a very tiny young....all other ones (she also caught some in July) we could rescue off her and release it quite a distance away from our ground...

Opie is lying in the laundry basket that I "just" filled with dirty laundry. He's either telling me that I can't do laundry tonight....or it's his plot to escape, hoping that I don't notice him when I carry the basket out of the building....

While I'm here....Question....I am working on plans to ( I hope...fingers crossed!!) move to Florida in about 6 months. Have any of you moved with your cat(s) a long distance (in this case, over 950 miles)? How did you move them? How did they tolerate the move? This is either going to be a 17+ hour drive, or we're going to have to stop overnight somewhere on the way.

Any suggestions for making this less traumatic for everyone involved??

When I moved to Texas from California, I drove with a cat in tow. I bought a large-size carrier that could fit a small litter box. It was traumatic. When the cat Amanda Sue was not sleeping, she was shrieking at the top of her lungs. She would wear herself out, then go back to sleep for a while. We made it, though. I drove straight through.

Someone recommended getting tranquilizers from the vet if I ever have to do this again, which I do not foresee.

Angel snuck out of the house last night. She made a capture of some type and was devouring it greedily on the porch when I went to call her in. Fortunately, I did not have my glasses on and couldn't see what it was. She gulped down the last bite, then swaggered into the house. Still no clue what it was, and I'm probably better off not knowing.

Yeah....I was thinking about talking to the vet about getting some tranquilizers. I hate the idea of doping her up.....but it may be the lesser of the evils. I'm just glad that he doesn't know what's coming in his future....
