The fleas here are ungodly this year... I literally cannot walk the 10 steps from my car to my door without having them attach to me. The cats are miserable - so am I (although, I do get some sadistic pleasure from drowning fleas in soapy water as I comb them off the cats). Can't afford the advantage right now, and no point in bombing the house until the cats are treated. Plus, I have no place to take them for the 2-3 hours worth of bombtime. *SIGH*

Otherwise, Cubby didn't want anything to do with me when I got home today - I guess the smell of the ocean freaked him out. Now that I've showered he seems to be THINKING about letting me near him again.

My poor cat has been staying at my place all by himself while I have been staying at my mother's since early April. I visit him 5 or 6 times a week.....and he jumps all over me while I am there, but after 15-20 minutes I have to leave him and go back to Mom's. I hate leaving him all alone....he's such a good kitty.

I know what you mean GT....without Frank I could not afford that stuff either right now....nor the posh food he started giving them (sheba)....though you do see the difference in them so it is worth it...but as I said, without Frank I would be screwed about that...I cant wait that we move this summer...hopefully in an area with less cats and having all cats with us again....though knowing that this street is by far the most extreme I have ever seen with the number of cats here, it really can only get better...

The fleas here are a bit better now...I wash our duvets twice a week, do plenty of hovering stuff and the additional bomb which they are getting once a month does wonders....but I hope we will be living in an area soon, where they wont need that bomb as it is really a lot to take in on meds for them...(meaning it contains a lot)

But I can't wait to have my Birmans again with us....even when they are fucking divas...

Someone on another thread recommended the combination of Comfortis and Program.
The Comfortis kills the live ones and the program deals with the eggs and larvae.

However, that is not at all inexpensive.

I find if you can be a bit OCD with combing you can deal with them pretty well that way.
But also you can try food grade diatomaceous earth and dust it around inside.

Curry was annoyed about me today....cause I let him outside whilst I went shopping....and at first he did not realise a huge mouse lying dead in front of our door (must have been one of the 4 cats from the person in our basement...)

Once we went back inside he finally realised it and was keen on getting it....which I was preventing him from (bad bad me)....he tried for quiet a while to remain stubborn in front of the door from inside a la "I want out NOW"....and hissed at me when I made clear to him, that it is time to get back up to the flat...but by now he calmed down and snuggled up next to me

Today was Angel's least favorite day of the year. She had her annual physical exam and shots. After we got home, she meandered around, meowing loudly to complain. Now I have some repair men over and she's in hiding somewhere.

My son's kitty hasn't made it that far yet (on guest bed). He's waiting for a written invitation....
All my cat wants to do is lie on my bed every chance he gets whether I'm there or not. He hasn't figured out how to nudge open doors yet to get himself out of my bedroom.

Fiery Opal..that's an amazing picture.

I buy the flea busters powder about 45 bucks a container and it lasts for at least
2 years if you have indoor cats. The earth stuff I hear works just as well. someone
posted the proper spelling above.

Sorry, the powder goes on your floors, couches, etc, not on the cats. Since I've moved
and Gabe and Ollie are inside cats along with flea buster powdering everything before
I moved in, I haven't had a problem.

I HATE FLEAS.

Greedy, I'm going to write to you on the other side.

FieryOpal....OMG....that is a fantastic picture.....Someone needs to think up a clever line for it and put it on lolcats.

My kitty was like that too for a long time. He eventually did figure out how to get on my bed, but he never became a "climber". He doesn't have any interest in elevated places like most cats. As a matter of fact, my bed is the only place gets up by himself. He will sit on the sofa with me but he doesn't get on the sofa unless I'm there. He actually prefers to lay on the floor. Go figure.

Ollie....I'm keeping my fingers crossed because I've never had a flea problem so far....but with this powder you have to spread all over your floors and furniture....how long do you need to leave it there before you can vacuum it up? Do you really need to keep powder all over the place all the time and reapply it after you vacuum?

If you go to a pool supply place you can buy diotomacious earth. It is the same stuff only way cheaper.

I fucking hate cats. They're all neo-fascists and enemies of the deeper democratic and anti-empiricist sensibility which is the root of all resistance to fundamentalist totalitarian ideas in an oppressive and frankly outdated modernity. They should all be lined up against the wall and shot. Wankers.

Dear Peon,

We are are the leaders of the resistance, and have been taught to read. It has been brought to our attention that you know too much. We are currently sending comrades across the pond. Miss Fluff has mentioned how sexy you are, so you are getting a bit of a heads up, because she feeds us well. Beware, though, WE ARE EVERYWHERE.

Ella and Louie

Peon....I'd be careful if I were you..... Ella and Louie are the "newly elected" (Read: they toppled the last leader and took over control). Their looks are very deceiving, which is why they were able to take control of Ms. Fluff so quickly and easily.

Positive thoughts needed: Squirt (a.k.a. Helicopter Claws of Death) has an abscess on his leg and we are going to the vet shortly.
