Just got back from Petsmart, where I bought a litter box and food dishes for Angel's "sanctuary" away from the other cats.  I wanted to begin her introduction this afternoon, but she can't be budged her nap on the porch.  I think she's worn out from the ordeal of the trip to the vet and all the health screens, examinations, and vaccinations she received today.

Keep her locked up in her own special room (maybe yours?) with a litterbox and food and toys for a few weeks. Allow the cats to smell each other through the doors, but that is all.

After a few weeks, bring her out into the main area in a kitty crate. Give all the cats treats fairly close to her crate (of course she gets them as well.) After a half hour or so put her back.

Do this several times a day over several more weeks (yes, this does take time but is worth it!) It doesn't have to be treats every time, it can be cat nip, or a favorite play session. The point is, when the new kitty is there, something good happens!

After several weeks of fun time in the crate, you get to try doing the same thing without the crate. (although if the kitties are touching noses and not fighting, you can go ahead and stop the crating.) Remember, short, fun times, and then the kitty is put away again.

Always greet the boss kitty first (I'm assuming you have more than the new one and another one) and then the other cat that's been there longer. The new kitty is greeted last, fed last, etc. Don't give them a reason to dislike her.

Some other things to try is to put a drop or two of vanilla on all the cat's backs, so their "scents" are the same, try spraying some feliway before introductions if there is too much strife, and there's also something for calming upset cats you can put in their water if they are too angry and emotional. (I can get the names if you need them)

Make sure there are plenty of litterboxes, and plenty of vertical areas the cats can relax on. (like cat tress and such.)

Take it much more slowly than you think you need to, and this should work out well in the end. If you need more help, let me know.

His butt found a way to leave the apartment from under the kitchen sink and out by the utility closet. I come home and his butt is outside playing with 5 kittens and 3 cats. My upstairs neighbors Dr. Dolittle cat farm.   Cabinet doors are now secured.

Mystic, is this the white cat that kept following you home?

And a question to the group...I'm gone about 9 hours a day, is it time to get Gabriel a playmate, and would a kitten be best?
(If I take one of the kittens or if I take the Mama cat who Gabriel already loves and plays with, to the vet we will have to go...)  edited to add....visions of my stuff being torn up with a kitten...and mama cat is used to being outside.

Just from our own experiences rescuing grown cats and adopting a kitten, the older cats seem to tolerate a kitten better. That's what I would suggest. And do the slowwww introduction I just outlined above.
