Or cover up things, and then when you have caught them, they try covering up again? I really would like to have a mans opinion on this, especially a Master.

Why does anyone lie about anything? This isn't some kind of Master specific thing.

OP, any man can call himself a Master.You evidently found one that doesn't deserve the title.

Why worry about his motivation? It's because he wants to cover something up and is not man enough to be truthful.

He just screened himself out. Drop him and move on.

This is the second time that this has happened just in this year. You'd think that I had "gullible" tattooed across my forehead. I told them that this wasn't my first rodeo.

I agree. Tossing away blatant and intentional deception which I understand does happen, women tend to attribute relationships going bad in terms of feeling betrayed and trust blown when often the case was the relationship just did not work out for two people not compatible and not good for each other.

One of the things we women need to do is stop expecting our men to actually be Prince Charming where we almost from the start force them to lie to us by trying to be that to us. Stop hoping and expecting the fairytale and this will help us keep our eyes open and encourage men to be more honest.

I am not expecting the fairy tale, but I do expect honesty,,especially when you've been busted but still won't come clean.

Really has nothing to do with him being a Master. It's just the nature of the net. I went through years of people talking a good game, just to find out just about everything out of their mouths was a big lie, and I wasted all that time on them.

Learn from it, and move on. But don't spend time beating yourself up about it. Unfortunately, no matter how sensitive you set that radar, one will always come underneath.

Just gotta take a little break, clear your head and get back up on that horse. And for goodness sake, don't stop your search until you meet someone in person and a relationship is established. That way when one is found to be less than honest it won't be so devastating. Don't invest all your time and energy into one person until you are sure it's time.

That's the way I did things any way. Sorry you are having trouble and good luck out there, one will turn up :>

Greetings Murren.....

No, someone can lie to you and still be a Master. That may make him a bad Master but always telling you the truth is not one of the things required for someone to call themselves a Master...or a sub or a slave for that matter. It is a people thing, not a M/s thing. If you don't want someone who lies, good luck in finding them. They are very rare. Also, as other posters have said, way too many people on sites like this lie about themselves and just about anything and everything else.

IMHO I find that a *true* Master is one who can master himself and his own life first and foremost before attempting to *master* another's. Unfortunately I learned this thru first hand experience. A **master** I was with for 7+ years was simply a master at telling lies. I wish I had a dollar for each lie told to me during our time together. I would be rich today.

Sounds like you value honesty in your relationship. Do not allow a Master to lie to you and get away with it. If you do you only have yourself to blame. (Again, there is that first hand exp. talking :( I cringe when I think of wasting all that time on someone who didn't think enough of me to be upfront and honest. Accepting those behaviors only allows the behavior to continue. funny.... I was "the perfect slave" until I began questioning him and not swallowing his lies hook, line and sinker. Once I began to question what he told me I "had too much Domme in me to be a good slave" LOL Good Luck in finding Someone honest and trustworthy enough to earn the title Master. :)

Most communities don't consider deception an acceptable trait in any of their members, be it M/s or D/s. Perhaps your perception is clouded for reason this year and that is why you are 2/0?

So how long do you know these guys before you sign up for the rodeo? Obviously not long enough. Because when people talk about things, and then talk about them again three weeks later, they don't remember what they said the first time. And you should be paying sufficient attention to them to note the discrepancies.

As to why you deliberately ignore the red flags? That's a totally different topic.

Unfortunately Masters do lie (on this site or any other0.

From my view .. a Master should never lie. It breaks the foundation of what the slave and Master relationship is about.
If I recall my 'old guard' philosophy correctly the foundation is: Truth, Honesty, Trust, and Respect
If a Master lies .... they ought not to be called a Master (personally).
