That's the 3.0l v6 that powers the higher spec Ford Mondeos in Europe, IIRC.

If so, I admit that's a peach of an engine. And surprisingly frugal on a long run at cruising speeds.

Yeah, it is. Good score on your part. Not especially exciting, but reliable and a good balance between grunt and economy. Good body & trim build quality too, if it's as well built as the Volvo P2 platform cars I've driven (same platform but Ford give it another designation IIRC). The Explorers I've driven have all felt a bit "rattly & squeaky" at bigger miles - hardly surprising as the basic design is much older than your 500. I can't stand rattles & squeaks in a car's interior, hence I own a Swedish car and a German car.

Just make sure you use the right type of engine oil when you come to have lube changes done - again IIRC those engines were sensitive to specific oil grades (5-20W vs. 5-30W) and you could run into valve gear trouble if you used the wrong sort - your local Ford garage will know though.

It's great when you get a new car isn't it? I admit I love that feeling, even if it's "new to me" - I've only ever bought 2 brand new cars my entire life (and 1 brand new bike) and would never buy new again, on cars at least.

I admit that I was listening to the commentary (parts way over my head), and my baby daddy laughed and said, "You have no clue what they're talking about, and I do... how cute."

I admit that I surprised him when I told him a few things that I understood. Because he is a dingbat, he grabbed ice from the ice maker, and threw it down the back of my sweater. I shrieked, the cat ran off, I threatened his untimely demise, then he swatted me in the head with a couch pillow.

I admit that working a full-time job for the first time in a really long time is both draining and fulfilling.

I admit that being away from Valyraen so much is not so fulfilling.

ETA:

we had a regular guest check out this evening after the housekeepers had left, so I got to use that room to shower.

I admit I wasnt prepared for that, so I showered but had to put the same clothes back on *ick*

I admit that I threw down another gauntlet to the slumlord/boss...  a guest had complained that I smelled of cigarettes.

I admit I told the boss that if he pays for my visits to the Dr. and the prescription for Chantix, I'd quit smoking.  He told the regional guy yeah (then after the call was done, told me I need to go out back to smoke).

I admit that this is problematic because if I am out back, it will take me longer to get to the desk to deal with the guests.

I admit it makes more sense for me to be out front, where I can SEE vehicles/people BEFORE they get inside.

I admit (AGAIN) that my boss is a fuckwit.
