I admit I miss having my laptop, and it's annoying not being able to get a replacement yet.
I admit I ordered one, but got jerked around by the company and canceled said order today.
I admit, never buying from that store again.
I admit I'm on a borrowed computer because browsing some sites on my phone is a pain.
I admit, first world problems.

I admit my house guest lost custody of her 4 smaller kids when her husband took her to court today for full custody.

I admit this is surprising, despite everything. Our county is notoriously bias in favor of women and it is almost unheard of for the woman to lose.

I admit I'm not sure if it either of them really care about the best interest of the children, or if they are just wanting the financial/state aid that the custodial parent gets.

I admit I feel like a horrible person for thinking this

I admit this sounds like a heart-rending situation.

I admit "4 smaller kids" made me wonder if she has others as well.

I admit you are far from a horrible person for being concerned about whether the parents see the kids as cash cows.

I admit it's a perfectly, hugely valid concern.

I admit you're all in my thoughts and prayers.

I admit it, I had my facts wrong. She didn't lose custody. The courts assigned a Guardian ad Litem to represent the best interests of the kids. I admit I had to look up what that was. It doesn't sound good.

I admit let's hope the kids do not embrace that power... she'll have to file for a hearing over room cleaning.
I admit, I can hear it already... "Your Honor, my mother, whom we've known all our lives, seems to think our room is dirty. However, we'd like to present the court with a host of evidence that shall set a federal precedence on the subjective and ambiguous nature of what is "clean" and what is "not clean".

I admit: It means the judge thought both parents were so fucked up that a total stranger needed to be assigned to protect the children from their parents.

Really? Because here there's always a court guardian assigned if the parents are fighting about custody.

I admit: Not here (California). Maybe smaller states are able to do that. Here only really bad situations result in independent representation being appointed for the kids.

I don't know about NYC but in my semi rural county it's common. It cuts down on calling the cops every time someone is 5 minutes late dropping off a kid.

I admit, I'm in a waiting room and I can't stop tapping my feet and dancing in my chair to this really catchy song that's playing while I'm browsing BDSM sites on my phone.

Despite the fact that it. is. fucking. snowing.

Here we have Friend of the Court mediators, who work with both parents before offfering reccomendarions to the judge. I'd never heard of GaLs. They do home visits, interview witnesses, teachers etc and observe how the kids interact with the parents and others before making recommendations to the court.

ETA winter just does not want to go away. I keep trying to turn off my heat but then going back and turning it back on. Brr

I admit, the number of contested custody cases filed every year in California number in the tens of thousands. That's every year. There aren't enough funds or people acting as guardians to appoint them in every case.

I admit... I haven't been around for a long time.

I admit... Life is good.

I admit... I just got back from a trip East and it was nice to see my family.

I admit... It snowed twice while I was there.

I admit... That makes me so grateful for the Central Coast weather I enjoy in California.

I admit I'm sucking at weight loss.
I admit its because I just handle stress- really really poorly.
I admit I need a better outlet- like excercise.
I admit- and I know its an excuse- but I have literally 0 motivation to excercise in this shitty shitty winter spring- its too cold and muddy out and cloudy. Its no fun to even swim at the gym cause its still cold.

I admit- BASICALLY- I'm hibernating and going on strike until the weather improves.

I admit that my 6 year old grandson has spent a week of his Spring Break with me and I couldn't be happier I admit that he has been pretty sick much of it so we've just been hanging out in my room watching cartoons, Netflix and something called YouTube Kids - and snuggling together in my recliner. I admit he's asked if he can stay longer and I wish he could, if only!

I admit that I am almost done repainting the mud room to turn it into a girls room for my houseguest's 3 daughters. I admit any reason to paint is a good one LOL.
I admit I thought the color was yellow, and should have read the can as the name of the paint was lime sherbet.
I admit that I'm really liking it a lot.
I admit that I put the word out and my daughter in law is going to pick up 2 toddler beds that were donated to me - so that I now have 3 beds out of 6 for the kids.
I admit that I hope I can find 3 twin beds somewhere and that I can find white paint on sale so that I can repaint the basement to fix up for the three boys.
I admit that I'm just being prideful as I want things to be as perfect as I can make them when the Guardian ad Litem makes a home inspection - in MY house.
I admit that I wasn't sure if I wanted to rearrange the rooms in my home, as it is supposed to be temporary, but decided the kids deserve to have a space their own even if it is for only few weeks
I admit that even after they find their own place it will make a nice room for my grandkids when they visit so I'm happy with it.

I admit that I can't sleep so I'm here rambling away in the I Admits section of the forum.
