That's sort of the point, Greta?

I admit that I finally finished reading 1984.

I admit that I absolutely HATE 1984! George Orwell is a sadist. It's the worst love story ever!

1984 was NOT a love story, was never meant to be a love story.

I admit, the more some people post, the more I am at a loss on how education systems around the world are rated.... 1984, a love story? Seriously? I guess that would make 'Animal Farm' an agricultural how to book?

Porn for furries, perhaps? Napolean obviously has a hardcore BDSM thing going on with Boxer...

Oh man, that is warped. Accurate, but warped.

But the thought does bring up an interesting idea. My daughter in law's youngest sister is a senior in high school. Animal Farm is on her required reading list.

And she has asked me to help her write a paper on the book.

So, the question becomes, Do I want to help a semi innocent 17 year (soon to be 18) year old write a report and analysis of 'Animal Farm' with a large left turn into BDSM for her to turn into a high school teacher?

Talk about raised eyebrows...

WhoreMods -> RE: I Admit It I........ (3/14/2017 9:46:44 AM)

I don't know if a high school litcrit approach would be suitable for that interpretation, sadly: it's more that Orwell makes his point about the exploitation of labour under elitist systems in such a way that it ends up looking like one of the more extreme bits of S&M porn floating around the internet. She could maybe mention that a lot of S&M eroticises stuff that was seen as reprehensible by Orwell (and most everybody else, come to that), and that the ideological issues with the historical settings that are drawn on is part of the frisson for a lot of people, but that's probably an aside for a single paragraph talking about the book in a contemporary context than a central argument for an essay.

I admit that Jeff's Ice Age project is successful. We have well over a foot of snow and are looking at two before Stella moves fully offshore. Something like five states are totally shut down and we can't even begin to think about how to dig out.

The Adirondack chair on the lawn is buried. The cars are buried.
And I have no clue where my snowshoes are.

dcnovice -> RE: I Admit It I........ (3/14/2017 4:27:33 PM)

I admit my uncle is having emergency surgery as I type.

I admit it's necessary to save his life but poses large risks given his age (80s) and frailness.

I admit I'm a little stunned, and also surprised by how much this has shaken me.

catize -> RE: I Admit It I........ (3/14/2017 4:43:00 PM)

Well wishes to DC's uncle

I admit that I, too, am buried in 21 or so inches of snow and it is above my wheel wells---blustery winds tonight
I admit I am not gonna even think about digging myself out until tomorrow

Thanks! I admit I really appreciate it.

I admit I wasn't this anxious for any of my own operations.

I admit my surviving the surgery wasn't really at issue, as it is with my uncle.

I admit being asleep also helps! [;)]

dcnovice -> RE: I Admit It I........ (3/14/2017 5:29:23 PM)

I admit my uncle made it through the operation.

I admit the underlying issue, while serious, proved much less dire than feared.

I admit- glad to hear that D.C.!
I admit we took a boring snow day. How is everyone weathering Storm Stella?

I aint even initiated my project yet.

What you are experiencing is a result of the slowing of the ocean conviction currents caused by the increased desalination of the ocean.

It wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. We didn't lose power, thankfully, so that made it tolerable. I always have such grand plans when I take an unexpected vacation day due to weather. You know, clean out the fridge, bake muffins, simmer something on the stove for hours, organize my junk drawers, etc. Reality: I slept late and then, after an optimistic breakfast, was glued to the couch until 3:00.

The roads around here were fantastic, though. They really kept up well.

ShaharThorne -> RE: I Admit It I........ (3/15/2017 5:49:40 AM)

Just cold down here but I get to petsit a mixed Aussie shepherd puppy which thinks he can raid the trash and chew on shoes (and gnaw on rope to the ammo box). My brother should take the rascal to the kennel (I don't like to take pets out for restroom breaks since my arthritis has been acting up for the past few days).

They closed the Thruway for a second day due to the winds and blowing snow. We stopped by the grocery store and it's half empty. The Man stopped at the pharmacy and they haven't gotten deliveries yet either.

You want no snow? Might I suggest a warmer climate?

Now granted rent and real estate prices on the keys are outrageous compared to the rest of the US, but they do not get snow there. The do, on occasion have issues with high winds, waves and minor storms known as Hurricanes, but no snow.

Yes, I am a callous bastard and pride myself on the fact.

I admit that the best possible thing to be done to improve the universe as a whole would be a near extinction level event occurring on this rock, or God pulling another Sodom and Gomorrah operation on a world wide scale.

If your opinion had any value whatsoever, I might consider it.

Well why don't you go talk to a counselor and tell them your thoughts and get a professional opinion. You don't happen to be the same guy who ordered all that fertilizer and stuff i hope.
