Ok. Should we call our team "The CM Biggest Loser Gang" or does anyone have any other ideas? Do we want it to be public or private? If it's public, anyone can see & join. If it's private, people can only join if invited. I don't know if those settings can be changed later or not.

Also, if there's anyone who wants to maintain their weight, SparkPeople can be use for that as well.

There's alot to be said for groups like this. Accountability is a good motivator for some. *Yay* to all those who want to give it a go and good luck!

And actually, while i love the cheer leading role, i am also here for the inspiration and encouragement. I need to lose a few pounds but more importantly, i need to start exercising.
I hold any excess weight in the middle (think 'spare tire') and medical science has proven that and weight in the tummy makes me much more susceptible to heart disease.

I am craving protein like crazy. All the exercise and stuff. I wrote up my food plan last night. Sigh. I'm not gonna ever get to the vegetarian stage again... But I've pretty much eliminated red meat and most pork.

Amazing how many kinds of fish there are.

I would like to add a website here: active.com - It lists runs/walks and things that you can sign up for. It's how I learned about the Habitat for Humanity Turkey Trot. I walked the whole thing, but you know what? It was great to do something active with family and friends on that day. You can put in dates and your area and find what's going on in your area! They have lots of suggestions and even *gasp* a message board (nothing quite like this one, though

)

I may have to join you guys for this one. I used to row for GB when I was at school and the first few years of uni, then I broke my clavicle, scapula, and did retarded things to my back, had to quit and forgot that regular folks don't actually need 4000 calories a day. I was probably just over 200lbs at the heaviest, am now down to 165 thanks to returning to veganism. Still have a good 20 to go I'd say?

I thought I'd do a quick summary so people can find all the info easily.

Tentative start date: Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010. You can start earlier if you'd like.

SparkPeople.com is a good resource & it's free. It has recipes, exercise demos, calorie counter, fitness tracker, blogs, teams(group), webpages & lots more. The teams have message boards, team goals, photos, & links.

I set up a team for us called "CM's Biggest Loser Gang". I took all the links on this thread & put them in our team. It's a private team so you have to be invited.

To get invited, you need to join SparkPeople & tell me what your username is on SP. You can tell me on here, thru C-mail, SP-mail or any other way you have to reach me.

If you want to do it thru SP-mail, make sure you're logged in & click my page. On the right side, you'll see options to interact with me. Click send mail & it'll take you to the form. I send the invite as soon as I get your name.

i just wanna say, we all know i started my weight loss trek about 2 months ago.... so i have a funny story about this. It was an ego boost and quite embarrassing at the same time...Thank Crown that i was drunk!

Girlfriend and i went out to party this weekend. i'm wearing my favorite jeans (He wasn't around, i didn't have to wear a skirt and felt like wearing jeans, gimme a break!) and, ummm, i guess i have really lost quite a bit of weight because one minute i'm walking, walking, walking..............

pants around my knees...
There were only 2 other people that saw it, thankfully. And we laughed our asses off after i figured out no one else saw it! i mean, i had to pull them up a few times cause they were sliding down but i didn't realize they were THAT loose!
