ORIGINAL: sexyred1 You people are all very inspirational. Now, if someone can make me like exercising and veggies, I could join in.... Honey, not many of us LIKE veggies and exercising. I know I don't... and I -do- like donuts, and fried dough, and capellini with alfredo sauce...and even a heart attack 2 years ago, brought on by the daily high-dose steroids and chemo I'm on didn't change that for a good long while... but starting about a year ago, I started really resenting and hating the fact that I felt like crap all the time, so for me, it was a no-brainer. I could keep eating the way I love, and avoid the painful sessions with my physical therapist and my trainer, and I could slowly continue to decay... or I could get off my ass, determine that prednisone and McDonalds were not going to set my future capabilities, and do the work to get myself to where I need to be. Yeah, it was sucky for the first couple of months, and I -still- have to make myself get up in the AM to do that morning workout before the day-job some days, but now, I feel good most of the time, and even when I feel BAD, it isn't quite so overwhelming and doesn't completely defeat me. To me, that's worth it -- so I guess the trick, if there is one, is figuring out what would make it 'worth it' for you to get healthy and stay healthy. Calla
