I've long wanted to get in a room with a bunch of women, and ask this.  Suppose this is closest thing. Although wouldn't mind mens points of view.

This is not really regarding any kind of typical "collarme" topic, as in not a d/s  s/m thing etc.

That is what, given your choice, would you find somewhat attractive for a man to wear?    As it is now the trend seems to be baggier and more generic clothing.  So I'm like 40 something..  In the 70's it was ok to show off our "gym built bods" in tight shorts.  80's tight jeans.  90s clothing got baggier.  00's even more so, and coloring non distinct.

So I suppose I ask here, with some strong willed women, both sub & dominant probably a little higher intelligence, is that what YOU all like to see, or is it a societal pressure.

I suppose it can be a d/s thing, do you make your guy wear something sexy?

Ok, I'm not really metro or anything, and I dont know why I'm so curious, but it's been 1 of those things.  'Specially a cpl years ago I was hittin the gym pretty hard and was like.. gee be nice to shot it off..  lol.  (No NOT a speedo at the beach! ROFL!)

Well a couple drinks might have also had something to do with it.

two facets.

what people like to see, and what an individual is capable of "pulling off" in terms of style.

i'd go with whatever "suits you" unless you happen upon a reason to inspire change, what people like to see will always be varied.

I'm not a mistress, but (currently)  I like the 40's look... slacks, shirt and tie, hat.  Which doesn't mean that jeans and tshirt don't work for me.  Most anything works for me, if it is worn well, and with confidence....

Just not the 'speedo shorts" thing, or the jeans with the waistline down around the knees... GAH!  HOW ANYONE could find that attractive is something I will NEVER understand....

Unfortunately, the answers you'll get are going to be quite varied. For instance, I love to see a man in a suit or formal wear ... but I also like a pair of jeans that fit perfectly with a t-shirt ... or just the t-shirt ... or a towel wrapped around his waist ... or a pair of boxers ... or ... or ... or ... I could list things for days, but honestly, it mostly boils down to what looks good on him.

You know, GT, the fun part of the whole "pants sagging" fad is that it started in the prisons as an advertisement to others that they were ... shall we say, available? I agree, though - it just looks stupid

This is a curious query...as I've been thinking about male attire for a bit now...it amazes me the number of males who ware jeans or pants in general that don't fit well...<sigh> what a missed opportunity...I have wondered if they don't understand that we enjoy the view as much as they do...lol

THAT is always what I kinda thought, that a typical woman would enjoy a guy in tight or form fitting clothing just as a man would.

yeah I've found that gross..  Have been tempted to steal a line from one of those redneck comedians - "Dude!  You're in Santa Clarita!  you aint no f'ing gangster!"

It's a matter of taste.

I like the boy in a nicely pressed shirt and tie, equally I like him in well fitting jeans and a t-shirt.

The only clothes related dealbreaker I have is white tube/sport socks. Hard limit right there :)

I don't like clothing that is 'tight' per se.  I like it form flattering.  When I think tight, I envision the 'muffin top'.  You know, the pants are glued on so tight that all the loose skin (I'm being kind here), puffs up out of the waistband look - blech.

Something that doesn't cause love-handles to appear where none exist is a good fit.  If you have no love handles before putting the pants on, but get them when you do - that is too tight.

I also don't care for the baggy look, I want to have an idea (not complete detail) of the body shape (leave a little for the imagination), I don't want to have to wonder where they are in their clothing.

Preferences, depends entirely on the situation.  A well tailored suit almost always looks flattering but isn't always practical.  Nice, form fitting jeans for getting dirty.  Casual pants for casual times.  Appropriate length swimtrunks for swimming (I dont wanna see yer junk peeking out when you are sitting on the beach).

Shirts, I only like button down shirts when paired with a suit, otherwise I prefer crew necks.  The material would depend upon the pants and situation.

I'm picky, I know, but you did ask.

I think all guys should go around in frock coats, waistcoats and knee breeches. Bring back the Georgian look, I say. :P

I like this guy. I vote we keep him.

In answer to your question, though, I'm afraid I am going to have to be difficult and contradict D8UD.

A fitted but not crazily-tight button down in a colour that sets off your eyes, and jeans that fit closely enough look to good from behind,  but not closely enough that I get unnecessary detail from in front.

When I take over the world no man will be allowed to deviate from this uniform, unless they want to remove parts of it.

On the money. I hate boys who fake looks.

For the record, I like when a man takes me out that he is inclined to wear a sports jacket, nice jeans, crisp shirt... or if the situation requires, a tailored italian suit.

Different situations require a different style of dress. I like a man who can adapt.

Kudos to the OP for a fascinating topic.  There are so many looks for men - the slender androgynous look, the rugged Brawny Towel look, the debonair Cary Grant look.  And yet I hadn't seen much discussion about which the women prefer.

I like men (My boy especially) in nice fit boot cut jeans, crew neck or v-neck shirts or sweaters, sometimes a nice sport coat over top if W/we are headed out for a casual dinner. I prefer black, gray or white boxer briefs, no stripes, no colors...no other undies... When "dressing up" I prefer My boy in a nice tailored suit, shirt with cufflinks, and tie. When just hanging at the house, he usually wears boot cut or relaxed cut jeans, polo style shirt, and uggs. (It's cold here, right now) or NAKED. :)

Pants On The Ground always looked stupid, and the only ones who never understood that are the fools that have been "sagging" all these years. How do they not see how dumb they look?

I love a guy in comfy jeans, and a T shirt. Not too loose and not to tight. Well-fitted.

And I LOVE a man in UNIFORM! Or a tailored suit. Yum.

Naked is yummy too, of course. And whatever's comfy, at the gym. Guys seem to want to show off their muscles, at the gym- so that's nice. Eye candy is always appreciated.

I was never one for the baggy look.  I've often seen folks with the pants so low (the hey, look at the great boxers type) that I've wanted to walk up to and ask them why bother with pants if they aren't going to cover the ass.  LOL.

Call Me old fashioned, but I like seeing males in clothes that actually fit.  Not something three sizes too big.

GT, I always threatened My (now grown) daughter with that.  When the boyfriends came to meet Me, they had a decent fitting pair of pants and a belt.
