It's pretty much a pick and choose my favourite bits and stick them altoghter kind of book.  As far as I have looked into it, the transtaltions are still pretty rough.  It's no different to what constantine did in the first place and missed out the stuff that he didn't like or fit his own agenda.

It seems to me that's what a lot of us do.

Can you imagine, though, a president today literally cutting up the bible?

Yes I can.  And he or she would look just as dreadful as Jefferson and Constantine.
Besides, there are many leaders who denounce any number of religious texts or beliefs.

I am running through every dead black entertainer that I can think of. God I hope Gary Coleman relinquishes life soon.

Happy now?

Here is why i find all this talk about Paul bothersome.

Was he not the son of a Pharisee, and a Jew, therefore would have been circumcised himself at 8 days of age?

Dont judge me because I sin differently than you.
If you want it sugar coated, dont ask me what i think! It would violate TOS.

Yes, and Jesus, as a Jew was also circumcised at 8 days old.  Paul answered a letter written to him regarding was it necessary to be circumcised to believe the gospel.  Paul said no it wasn't, that faith comes from the heart, not the penis.  I'm beginning to see that a lot of folks are under the impression that the penis is the source of everything, including faith.  Paul didn't think anyone's junk was important.

Paul's letters had a common theme.  Don't try to DO something to be saved.  Don't run out and make a bunch of changes, just be still and believe.  A lot of people don't understand that they are reading a letter to a specific person. *sigh*

OK....

"So I hear you're a writer..."

More like, "So I hear you're a lawyer . . . did you ever meet my friend Stephen?" *Awkward silence follows*
